Probably not even the GB tbh, didn't look like their work.

you have to remember, maybe 50/80 GB made the trip, the banner doesn't have to have came from them.

It was a nothing banner anyway so who gives a *?

The GB don't even take those numbers to away games in this country never mind abroad.

Have to agree...it's a bit shallow and kinda says 'We're just a bunch of huff pots and don't like the fact that you fined us'.

If you're going to go the bother of making a statement make a half decent one.

It's the official font the green brigade use on all their banners. This was just stupid.

A GB member on kerrydale street has admitted that it was their banner, he also said it was a rush job as they are preparing other material (probably something for the huns match)

and you would be lucky if there was 10 members their last night.

I would not expect us to be fined for the banner but we will be for the flares :31:

    Club Statement

CELTIC Football Club today confirmed that it has identified an individual responsible for both the displaying of an offensive banner and the assault of a Celtic steward at last night´s match against Udinese.

The person, Ross Connolly, was arrested last night by police in Italy and he will be banned for life from attending all of Celtic´s matches.

The club is also in the process of identifying persons responsible for the use of a flare at last night´s match.

We are in possession of video and photographic evidence from the match and clearly, when those responsible are identified, the club will take the appropriate action.

Celtic is rightly proud of all that our supporters have achieved and the magnificent reputation they have earned across Europe over many years.

It is extremely disappointing therefore that the otherwise excellent behaviour of the vast majority of Celtic supporters, and the reputation of the club, has been undermined in this way, by the actions of a handful of people.

Surely they can't do anything over flares? Legal in Italy are they not?

Yes, you can be fined for it. It was on TV and there are laws regarding that. Our fans broke those laws and punishment will be handed down to the club. Also, throwing flares was totally stupid.

Some people seem intent on ruining our reputation and are using our Club for agenda filled political nonsense. Not real fans. Real fans only care about the club, not themselves. Lawell is spot on. This has only appeared in the last 6-12 months and it is sinister. Ultras? Give me a break.

Neil is acting like an idiot. Who supported him when the majority of "Celtic fans" wanted him out the door. Ironically some on here who now praise his comments.

If he said this and he meant it ( context ) then I have lost respect for him.

  17. The authorities in other European countries prob aren`t that fussed about trivial things like flares. Seen as week in week out they let them off, UEFA seem to have an issue though.

I think people are overreacting to the Lennon comments. Last night was one of our best European away performances in several years and the focus today should have been on the great display we put in against one of the top sides in Europe.

I, for one, can understand why Lenny is * off that a tiny minority of idiots that follow the club have taken the spotlight yet again. I wish we could just rid the morons from our support and the club have taken a step in the right direction by banning the guy who attacked the steward for life.

I'm sure pretty much every club in the Europa and CL are due a fine then?

Plenty of anti-UEFA and FIFA banners in their comps too.

Our board need to grow a * backbone IMO.
