I think Neil Lennon should be given a contract for next season now, even if we don't win the league this season. Here's my reasons.

1.We need some stability after a massive influx of players, a new manager at the end of this season is the last thing we need.

    2. He has made young exciting signings that will only get better as they grow together!(Players and manager.)

3.He knows the club inside out and realises what the fans expect from a Celtic player and he loves Celtic as much as we do.

4.Honest, intelligent, and articulate when speaking to the media which helps us understand what's happening in our club.

5.Not afraid to give youth a chance and keep them on the team- eg Forrest.

6.He's found potentially the best left back in Izaguirre since Anton.:86:

    7. A new contract now will lead to a little more calm around the place and he will be able to make sure we're full prepared for Europe next season.

    8.Neil Lennon is a winner.

9.If we do let him go at the end of season who will we get in?(can't see MON coming in)

    10. Nothing would make the huns more sick to see Lennon with the SPL trophy season after season.

There's been a bit of doubt in Lennon lately, I'm sure he'll learn form his mistakes let's get right behind him and the team we've lost to the huns and we're only a point behind them. They're there for the taking and Lenny is the man for the job.

Thoughts please! Feel free to add to my list as it's by no means exhaustive.

I think he got the year purely to cover their * in case it was a disaster and i firmly believe he will get his contract AND i believe he will already know so i wouldnt stress on it

It depends on how the second half of the season goes, we could only be a couple of games away from disaster. I certainly wouldn't give him one now. Even though I back Lennon 100% he has still got us knocked out of the CL, EL and a bad home defeat to the huns. He has not earned a new contract in my opinion, he would be getting one for who he is not for what he has done.

Take your point but if we were to give him a contract now it might calm the place down a little we seem to be living on our nerves with last minute goals against UTD and St Mirren we can't have a whole season like that and if we do collapse and season is a disaster then he can be sacked anyway contract or not!
It would show a bit of faith which will help him and the team through this season and next as well! Board nothing to lose everything to gain!:shamrock:

Nope i would wait till end of the season and after what happened with Mowbray, thats exactly what the club will do.

I can see some of what you're saying mate but I don't think any of the players performances have or will be affected by Lennon getting a new contract to be honest.

The board may wait till the new year, where we sit in the table at that time may determine lenny's fate.

Aye maybe waiting for a potentially pivotal league cup victory, which would be a good time to announce a new contract!

Maybe Lenny and his backroom staff might be affected though, a more confident staff would defo help the players!:shamrock:

he needs to be given more than a season, we cant just change another manager again, well we can, but it's not ideal

It makes no difference, he is the manager and will be for years to come. Contracts are fairly meaningless.

Do i detect a hint of sarcasm, the LC has got nothing to do with it, lenny's remit is the SPL, there is nothing to be gained by rushing a new contract at this moment in time.

Exactly, its not like Lenny's going to get poached, we could offer him a contract with a minute to go on his old one and he'd still sign it, wait and see as long as we are still competing just for stability I think he should get another year, rolling contracts don't think after Mowbray he'll get anything better. Think its been a big task for him this season as the manky mob have been playing well above the average squad they are. Hopefully January signings complete the squad and he gets rid of the dead wood too.

He's only been in the post for just over 5 months. It's way way to premature to be talking about a new contract just yet.

Quite simply, he does not deserve one just yet.
