His last league goal was in January, disgraceful record for any Celtic striker. GTF.

Is that right? * * that's even worse than I thought if true. :97:

Said it before and I'll say it again - Samaras is a * clown. He thinks that by making big statements in the press before an Old Firm game and then running around the pitch kicking any Hun he can get near to, after doing nothing else the whole game, he will fool us into believing he's giving his all for the club. Well it doesn't wash with me. I'd rather he shut his * yap before Old Firm games, stopped running around like Julian Clary on speed and actually did something constructive with the football when he gets it at his feet.

'Oh but give him a break, at least he shows for the ball' I hear his defenders cry.......well to be quite honest I'd rather the * didn't show for the ball because he just wastes it when he gets it anyway.

Like CfC jack CfC said, I have seldom felt this way about a Celtic player and it took a long time for me to reach this point but I actually can't even stand looking at Samaras anymore. He's * tripe.

He has a lot of ability but it just does not translate into a consistently useful player. He is the most confidence effected player I have ever seen. Basically I think he could be an amazing player but his head goes down easily and he is in a real spiral downwards. We just cannot afford to rely on a player who has so much loss of form. So, I think we need to make plans for the future that dont involve him and if we can get any money for him this January before his contract expires then we should take it. No hard feelings though. He has undoubtedly been a useful squad member at times and he contributed significantly to turnign things round for 3 in a row.

He is a laughing stock, Lafferty is probably doing better than him now & that's a shame.

He seems incapable of learning from his mistakes like many other before him, why won't he make the obvious pass?

He holds the ball waaay too long & wanders into trouble instead of laying the ball off & moving into the box, like a striker should.

Nowhere near as bad as people make out, last 3 games he's been pretty terrible though, the first 2 for being played out wide in a 4-4-2 (which has never ever worked for him) and the last one him, Maloney and Izaguirre were all trying to operate in the same area of the narrow Tynecastle pitch which was just a disaster (for every player that game)

He got absolute pelters when he was in brilliant form so now he'* a bad patch well this was predictable

It's a silly argument - 1, he's been playing mainly on the left-wing so no SPL goals since January (also bearing in mind Keane/Fortune was Mowbray's first picks) isn't that bad.

Secondly wasn't that long ago that he scored a hat-trick against Inverness, an SPL level side albeit in the CIS cup.

Thirdly he's out 4th highest scorer this season in all competition (13 games 4 goals). Again being played wide 90% of the time that ain't THAT bad (and including 1 perfectly good goal chopped off, and numerous assists)

As I say, bad past 3 games for him (but did anyone play well in the Rangers/Hearts games in our team?) but if he gets pelters when he's playing well - people were slagging him off after that hat-trick ffs, then absolutely no surprise to see people jumping on him now.

Important option in the team, but 90% of criticisms he receives are unwarranted.

He always plays on the wing. Even when hes playing up front in a 442 hes drifts out to the wing when he should be in the box, fraustrating!

are you nuts!! how the * is it a silly argument? are you trying to tell me this guy is of celtic class? he drifts out wide no matter what anyway ffs. he is a * bag did you see his heartless effort of a jump at tyncastle when a little effort he could have scored from a header? * like that does him no favours. he gets the ball and 90% of the time he wont pass the * when he should. instead gets the ball taken off him then he`s on his knees sorting his hair * greetin. is this the type of player you want playing at our club? cos i sure is * dont. i have nothing against sammy personal.its his effort(or lack of) that gets everyone giving him pelters . he plays decent back and forward and come the big games! guess what? hee haw from him. time to go sammy

I'm not saying if you don't rate him it's a silly argument. But to concentrate on a contrived "he hasn't scored an SPL goal since January".

    Read my post again.

In the modern game people like Sammy are passengers, and there are few teams who can accomodate them ! Celtic certainly aint one of them. Even the greatest wingers/forwards all have to work back and help out, Sammy aint interested ! He's using up wages and a space in the squad that would be better spent elsewhere. When he plays out wide he comes in with the ball , gets robbed and puts us in trouble. He continually slows attacks down, or when up front , drifts wide and is never in the box when we need him. Sorry time to go Sammy !

na mate disagree there! the one thing i will give him is that he does get back and puts inthe tackles to help out. so fair play to him there, but for me that isnt enough.

I see that many people are having a go at Sammy's work rate, it's not really his work rate I have a problem with. I'd say Samaras has a better work rate than, say, a guy like Paddy McCourt.

What * me off with Samaras is that he fails miserably to do anything constructive with the ball when he gets it. That's what * me off about him, not his work rate. He's * terrible for giving the ball away or running into a blind alley and losing posession. There was one example on Wednesday night at Tynecastle where he picked the ball up, ran down the wing, went past the full-back, got himself into the box and into a really dangerous position then put a 'cross' in that ended up being a pass back to the Hearts goalkeeper. That's Samaras all over. Absolutely no end product, he's * gash.

Stuart Pearce paid £6million for this * oddball. No wonder his managerial career didn't last long. :97:

Sammy was at the game today.. Noticed the camera panning to him before kick-off.. He had his Celtic training gear on but maybe just there to show support for the team..
