Aye, "go home ya * *". I was referring to the Celtic support though.

    Aye ok then, whatever chief.

Tiocfaidh Ar La, * Bless :celt_2:

That's your opinion and you are entitled to it, I think that belief is wrong though as I don't think guys like me are in the minority at all.

Well I do. I'm not talking about their political views here. I am saying you might even have your viewpoint- but not want things in CP. That is the biggest problem. It's the biggest proble, because it is generally accepted that people are different in society but bringing it to CP just creates divisions like we are seeing.

Given that the poll showed you're in the minority your arguments are against facts.

That rendition of Aidan McAnespie was extremely relevant.

I was there and I observed the minute's silence as did every Tim in the ground, the Falkirk scum didn't realise it was themselves that disrupted the silence with an anti-Irish comment like the typical hun * they are.

    :50:

    Is that right ?

Poll on the Huddleboard, question - Do you support the GB's anti-poppy stance?

    Yes - 380 (80%)
    No - 60 (12.83%)
    Bonnes - 35 (7.37%)

Bonnes meaning a general indifference really.

Well done guys on ruining your rapidly growing reputation as brilliant fans and making a * of us on the national news.

    Top-*-notch.

We all have political beliefs, most of us have the sense to keep them away from the football.

To me, it's not about the stance. It's the display and it's manner, timing, message. Have any view- away from CP while being tolerant of others.

Also, the best way to conclude this would be for a survey to be carried out at games or something.

The Huddleboard has always been a forum run with a specifc section of Celtic fans in mind i.e. Irish Republican supporting, TalkCeltic represents a very broad and varied cross-section of the support and they voted against the GB.

There are, on average, usually about 600-800 members online there (numbers bigger than this place and hence providing a greater sample) and I can assure you that they will not all be Republican minded.

But anyway aye, I reckon the Huddleboard is a far better representation of your average Tim and the facts don't lie in their poll. You see, I didn't just magicly think that I held the majority view.

Why? Last time I was on the huddleboard there were lots of threads revelling in the death of British soldiers and wanting a return to the fighting in Northern Ireland. If it's changed then fine but you don't get that on here because of all the differeing opinions.

No, you just magically ignored one poll and declared the other to be the only relevant one.

    MILK WAS A BAD CHOICE..

How you can keep on posting stuff like this on the very same page as you saying it's right and proper to have the poppy displayed is beyond me, nick. Obviously you have some attacment to the Forces, and that's your own business. You like the idea of the poppy affirming what your worldview or friends and family. Presumably you don't care about the deep offense that causes other Celtic people. That's ok, too.

But to then claim over and over and over about the mirror image of the situation being unsuitable and unpalatable to you is unadulterated hypocrisy.

Sorry to be rattle on but 18celtic88, having the phoenix rising from the ashes on your avatar and at the same time almost disavowing the unique ethos of Celtic illustrates the dumbed down nature of all this. Guaranteed, 30-40 years ago this place would have been awash with all manner of unbelievable, fantastic people tearing this crap to shreds with conversation as sharp and informed as you'd find in any Parisian University cafe.

Perhaps look into the unique associations the phoenix from the ashes symbology means to the Celtic family (it can mean differing things to different groups, but to us...) before effectively telling us political discourse is not part of the Celtic ethos. Or did you merely choose it because it looks colourful and cool on your profile?

Genuinely makes me feel sad, man.

I'm sick of people hijacking our club - Yes, John Reid and your sort.
The poppy has no place at any football club but especially our club.

i dont know why british politics is being brought into football. why should players and fans who are opposed to something have it forced upon them when its not football related?
what if the players dont want to wear poppies, are the clubs going to force them to wear 1? cant see any of the irish lads for starters wanting to wear 1 or lennon wearing 1 on his gaffers jacket.

I've not ignored this poll as I am well aware that there are a number of brit apologists within our support and this site is in some ways indicitave of that but I stand by my opinion that the other poll is far more in tune with your average Tim.

Me too comrade, the dilution of our proud heritage :54: But as long as guys like ourself remain that won't happen, just remember that :celt_2:

Sick to the back teeth as well buddy :50:

    Double standards.

Did the club think of our Irish support when they went ahead with the decision knowing fine well that it would cause uproar and offence ? Did they *.

No I simply chose it because of fergus mcann.

He saved our club which was minutes from folding then won us a league and build a 60000 seated stadium.

Think the pheonix has more than enough relevance to the story did you miss the risen from the ashes part? Or did you just ignore it?
