Out of all posts in both threads, this one takes the biscuit.

Another one who thinks your political views define you as a Celtic fan and if you disagree or openly criticise others for airing their (usually republican) views, you can go * yourself.

No, I haven't been to Palestine, I will experience it after I complete my degree. Can I speak German? No, only Spanish and English.

I feel for you with regards to your mother, however, I stand by every single comment I have made.

Point is OC, not that you can't have differing view, but you can have * views. Political views. It was a response to the countless post stating CP is no place for politics.....well it's not anymore granted given the thousands of glory hunters who have latched on, but my Club is Glasgow Celtic and we are more than a football team. We have always been Political throughout our history....so if you have arrived in Scotland from an other planet and want a football team..choose someone else if you dont want serious debate or statements made by your fellow fans.

I fully agree. Fergus McCann done well to rid Parkhead of political songs and they along with political banners have now crept in. The poppy is not a pro war or pro army symbol.

All this pish comes down to money.......the Celtic board are a bunch of Capitalist * and think more about lining there own pocket than they do about our Club. If they were'nt worried about sponsors shying away from Celtic Park then none of this would have happened. Think of CP before wee Fergus. Wolfe Tones recording songs, Rebel songs every game at CP, large proportion of the support Politically aware and supporting the armed struggle etc. etc. No money in football then....this is not about any grand notion of respectability, it's about * money....says it all. I dont care who supports Celtic as long as they remember the history of our Club.

Celtic had to apologise because thad banner contravened one of the sfa articles of association. The club could be warned, fined, deducted points or parts of the stadium closed if they are not seen to be doing something about it.

It's impossible for us to be proud that we are more than a club, and then watch on as everything that makes us more is ripped from us. It is an absolute DISGRACE that the Plc are seeking to ban fans for exercising their right to free speech in an attempt to appease the media. How can our custodians say they do not want politics inside Celtic Park and then put an entirely political symbol of British imperialism on the front of our shirt. It is disgusting.

I have no problem with people wearing a poppy, not that I would ever wear one, but it should not be on the hoops. Not ever.

The reason Celtic has so many fans all over the world is because we ARE more than just 90 minutes on a Saturday afternoon; we are a culture, a lifestyle, a cause. Celtic is a way of life and it is unfortunate that some seem to have forgotten that. People say that politics has no place in football but why not? Too many are scared of how the media portray us (they hate us anyway so what difference does it make). Celtic have always been a politically conscious club and have forged links with plenty of like minded clubs such as St. Pauli throughout the years. These clubs aren't made to feel ashamed of their views, so why should we be. Only in Scotland.

If the huns want to take offense at the protest then who cares, as the words to our most famous song go "we don't care what the animals say". Seemingly now we do care what they say. This hun MP from Derry, the Daily * Mail and whatever other hun wants to say anything then let them, they are of no concern to me.

Parkhead isn't place for airing your views, nor is any other stadium. Unfortunately, politican views are widespread nowadays and it distracts attention of what Celtic Park is about - football.

In this post you basically said the same thing, anyone who doesn't share or even has any views isn't welcome.

People have been brought up supporting Celtic FC. Nothing else.

Bolded part - why does everyone have to agree with statements made by fellow fans? In this case it's Green Brigade. Some agree with their banner, some disagree and some simply don't give a flying one.

Serious your point about glory hunters is idiotic!

Celtic is a football club! Your opinions about your fellow supporters is ridiculous just because they don't support your beliefs.

People like you making divides in our support with idiotic claims infuriates me!

I did not say in any part of my post that they have to agree with each other....I said we are, or at least were, a politically aware support. We have supported many causes all over the world, most notably the Irish Republican movement. We were vilified for years but did we care? No, because we has principles. The same principles the GB are showing now and we should stand shoulder to shoulder with them.
