This is very typical of the hun media. especially before an old firm game. A scathing attacking issued today questioning the credibility of willie collum because he is a RE teacher. Very typical. last year the daily record had a story claiming referee steve conroy was related to celtics ryan conroy, a day before the game. complete falsehood btw. what do yo know? conroy didn't give fortune that goal the next day. They have an agenda. Fair enough- mention his religious persuasion, but you only have to read this article for two paragraphs to realise the writers motivation.

i dont think it will affect collums game, but i wouldnt be surprised if the hun medias efforts dont go unrewarded...AGAIN.

It's been mentioned all week, if anyone was in doubt of Collum's religion then they will be aware of it now. A horrible problem engrained within Scottish society.

never seizes to amaze me, we get this *, players constantly linked with other teams and targeted before big games, and more importantly....BLATANTLY CHEATED.
PARANOIA my *, we always get undone by over bias on the other side of the divide.

If we say nothing we get walked all over, if we speak up we are paranoid, but the evidence speaks for itsself, there are books about it dating back to the early 50s!!

Hail Hail our day will come!!:shamrock:

It makes me sick too.. McCurry was the biggest cheating minister * in the last decade , was a self confessed hun who belts out their songs at his church while he's * young birds behind his wife's back yet the guy never had his name and religion mentioned in the same story (with regards to his job as a ref) the whole time he masqueraded as a referee..

Something that has surprised me is that the linesman from last week offered his resignation but it was turned down by the SFA , and there's not been any mention (as yet) of Celtic being the instigators with their letter to the SFA forcing the guys hand..
If there was a story to blame our club it would already be headline news and if someone wants to resign they resign , they don't offer to resign and then just get on with things after being told they can't resign..

That tells me is there is no story to be had that can blame Celtic for this guy wanting to quit officiating , so what other reason could there be.. Could he have just witnessed underhand tactics from his fellow officials (like Mcdonald changing a monumental decision in a game but having no basis for doing so) and Craven has decided he no longer wants to be involved in what amounts to corruption.. This linesman could have some very valuable information that could show the SFA and the way their officials go about their business , in a a very bad light so maybe it's in their interest to refuse a guys attempt to resign untill they've sorted out a sweetner for him to keep quiet..

Did they scrawl a story stating the religion of every other referee who has took charge of Celtic v Rangers games over the past few years? Did they *! Why is that?

    We all know why.

    Disgraceful, pitiful, straw-clutching pish.

The most blatant attempt to try and place pressure on a referee I have ever seen.

I'm not a big fan or religion but that's blatant anti-catholicism that I've ever seen.

We live in a bigoted back water, imagine the backlash if that was about instead of Catholic it was Jewish?

I swear to * the way people think in this country is the way the German's thought of the Jews in the early 1900's.

    It is truly despicable.

Because in a country full of ignorant people were everything is black and white Celtic = Catholic Rangers = Protestant.

The reality, as we all know, is that Celtic = any nationality, creed or religion and Rangers = huns.

Unbelieveable. Im not expecting anything from the Referee tommorow after this.

Some invasion of privacy as well. Why they felt the need to disclose that information is beyond me.
