portsmouth liquidation

Discussion in 'World Football' started by rossf1990cfc, Oct 22, 2010.

  1. Just heard on the radio that portsmouth are to be shut down, not good to see happen to any club

  2. Its shocking thatthis is allowed to happen to a club nowadays. Not good to see any club go out of business.

  3. sad to see . But clubs are a business at the end of the day .

  4. Really?

Thats awful, awful news. They have a small but loyal following. It should never have happened. But you feel for good fans don't you?

  5. danroan Dan Roan
Breaking: Portsmouth FC statement: "likely the club will now be closed down and liquidated" - they blame former owner Sacha Gaydamak.
:47:Feel for the fans they deserve better fantastic support and always get behind there team very sad .

  6. Feel sorry for their loyal, passionate support but I am glad that a nothing club who spent millions upon millions that they didn't have are finally getting what they deserve. This is the reason why fitba' is * - a great club like ours can spend nowhere near the amount of nothing EPL clubs. Blame Sky.

  7. lets get lawrence from them

  8. mokoena and ashdown in please :50:

  9. do we really need another keeper?

  10. I feel for the fans as they are some of the most loyal and passionate fans in the game but the club dont deserve to liquidated, yes they have spent money they dont have but tell me what club has never spent a bit of money that wasnt readily available. If theres one thing to come out of this its that uefa and fifa have to start looking at clubs finances and the ones in massive debt, man utd, liverpool, arsenal etc get banned from the CL/europa league until they get the books sorted, cause believe you me they would do it quicker than you could blink.

I wouldnt mind us going for david nugent :50:

  11. forster away in january and he's better than zaluska, so aye

  12. Forster signed a season long loan, he will only be recalled if Harper is out longer than expected but he's making good progress in his recovery. Forster will stay for the season.

  13. Is he not only there on loan ?

  14. up to newcastle i suppose.

thats what happens when greed comes along eh! feel for the fans though great as always that support. * them * thats * up the club.

  15. He's there on loan, but is(or was) expected to sign in January. I remember hearing that Stoke and Portsmouth completed the deal 12 minutes after the window had closed.... so liam completed an emergency loan, if i am not mistaken.

  16. I would have Ciftci off them.

  17. :54: Sad Sad story

We'll maybe see a FC Portsmouth coming through the ranks in the next 10 years :56:

  18. sad story indeed but cant help thinking if this maybe opens up a space for you know what to happen

  19. 2-3 years ago they were competing in an FA Cup final boasting players like Diarra, Defoe, Crouch, Glen Johnston and Krankjar. Now they are reduced to this. And to be honest this is what they get (not the fans, the club). Just a shame it hasn't happened to Man City or Chelsea. Buying success the way these clubs are and giving them astronomical wages has turned football from a game into a business.

Lets hope this is the beginning :50:
