I'd take 3m in a heartbeat. When you consider we only paid 1.3m for kayal and 1.2 for stokes and all the free transfers that Lennon got, brown would not be missed IMO.

again its evidence that there is an irrational hatred for Scott Brown among many Celtic fans that is out of step with the opinions 99% of the actual football people. Brown is rated by everyone but this core of Celtic fans. I more and more find it hard to believe there is not a subconcious thing about his background making many fans not warm to him.

it just doesnt stack up. He has in many games in pre-season and this season been excellent, probably in about three quarters of our games. He has been first name on the teamsheet for out last 3 Celtic managers and for the last 2 Scotland managers. EPL managers have commented favourably, now top italian teams. He was POTY in his last fit full season. But still people just say he is *. I am not blind. There is an attitude to him and several people on this site have even dropped the mask and come out and accused him of not trying for Celtic because he is a hun at heart etc. Despite playing well in most games this season there are constant threads. I have been supporting football for over 30 years and I do not think I have ever seen a worse case of a decent player whose face just doesnt fit with the fans. If I was Broony I would walk in the summer making sure we got zilch because he is treated abysmally.

FFS Keltoi, where did that come from?

Brown is a good player, as was McGeady, McDonald, Robson & dare I even say it Caldwell.

C'mon, all these players could just as easily be described by your post - look at the Sammy thread.

Fans of every club moan & argue over if a player is any good.

It has nothing to do with his background, Aiden got pelters from Celtic fans & we all know the abuse he has taken from other fans for his background.

Brown has improved a great deal this season, I like him - but he like other players have a price & lets be certain that central midfield is our strongest area of the team by far. It may be argued that Kayal & Juarez are our best players there - with Ledley & Brown behind them in quality.

I didn't realise he was in his last year of contract, Lawell has again shown how inept he is in asset managment if this is true.

I hope brown doesn't go, i also think he should stay as captain, he leads us well i think, leads my example with determination and heart he shows when playing. He gets stuck in, runs all day, breaks up play, he plays the easy ball, i admit when he tries long passing it is woeful at times. He does drive us on at times with long busting runs and just unlucky infront of goal which will change i think. People should have some faith in him and start supporting him. Like they should with every player especially the captain

Fair enough, that is your opinion. I don't rate him as a footballer, i couldn't care less about who players supported as a boy etc Was Kenny Dalglish etc not Rangers fans? Danny McGrain? I don't think it makes a huge difference to fans.

Please *, let this be true!

Although has anyone else noticed that this rumour appears at the same as the Papal visit.

Could it be that the mere presence of his holyness will deliver a miracle to the faithful...

No gunt, I think it is quite the opposite.

75% of the fans actually don't rate brown because it is clear that his passing is bad a lot of the time, the guy cannot shoot. FACT! He also doesn't set up a lot of goals, which begs the question "why is he played as an attacking or a box to box midfielder. He also dives into challenges and gives away needless fouls as he seems unable to tackle within the rules of the game and the fact he is lacsidasical also makes him a poor choice for a holding midfielder.

Yes he gets stuck in! Yes he has a great engine! For me that is not enough to be the captain at Celtic.

The other 25% or less who do back brown, for me, are fans that rated him at the beggining and are so pig headed they refuse to admit it when they are wrong or are die hards that won't slag a Celtic player!

I would like it if someone did a simple poll on is brown good enough to be in celtics starting 11, or to be the Celtic captain as you may see it is not a minority who don't rate brown, it is quite the opposite.

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is considering a move for Celtic’s Scott Brown as he looks to beef up his midfield options but the Old Trafford manager will reportedly have to fend off interest in the Scottish international from the likes of Juventus and Inter Milan who are apparently both interested in the box to box performer.
Ferguson has not been pleased with his side’s showing thus far this season and apparently believes that recent average displays against Fulham, Everton and Rangers stem from a lack of real impetus in his midfield. Of his current crop of talent only Paul Scholes and Darren Fletcher appear to be in good form with the likes of Anderson, Michael Carrick and Darron Gibson failing to impress.
With Owen Hargreaves seemingly perennially sidelined to boot it is rumoured that the Premier League club may well make a move for former Hibs man Scott Brown. The battling midfielder has started the SPL season splendidly and has attracted a great deal of interest in his services.
Since his arrival at Parkhead in May 2007, Brown has been a consistent performer but news of interest from England and beyond will surely tempt the Dunfermline born talent who may feel that he has outgrown the Scottish domestic game.
Neil Lennon is sure to fight off interest in the £12m rated Scottish international but if any bid is made the in debt Glasgow club will find it hard to not accept any decent offer for Scott Brown, be it from Italy or the south of the border.

There will always be people who don't like a certain player because their face doesn't fit - especially those who come from a blue background. However if they give their all on the park, produce the goods and, most importantly, are worthy of the jersey then I have no problem with that.

My problem with Brown is that I don't think he's good enough. IMO we have better players, especially since Lenny took over and put his own stamp on the team. So why play someone when there is someone better sitting on the bench?

Where did you find this muck?

The only way ferguson will take brown is for f all to spite us like he did with liam miller.

I will carry brown on my back to old Trafford with bare feet, if they give us 12m!!
