    Hello lads,

As some of you might know, I'm planning a trip to Glasgow. Me and a friend from Rotterdam (yes, he's a Feyenoord Supporter) want to attend the Old Firm match in October.

But I've got a question. Since October is still in fall, and not winter I guess it won't be that cold in Glasgow. So I would like to wear my normal summer coat.

'Well...why is that Dutch * bothering us with his little problems?' you might ask yourself. But here's my problem...since my summer coat is an old coat of the Dutch Army, it has got dutch flags on both shoulder. And the Dutch flags consists of the colours Red-White-Blue...

Would it be safe to walk in Glasgow with that coat around the Old Firm time? Or wouldn't anyone give a *?

(btw, I didn't know where to ask this, so I'm very sorry if this one's in the wrong section)

    Bad idea i think.

Just go and buy a balck coat, and it will be cool enough in October,so a fluffy black coat might be best.

Hmm. So it won't be wise in your opinion?
In that case it's just my black winter coat then.

    Thanks for the replies, lads!:50:

It'll be pretty chilly, so wearing your winter coat might be a good idea. As for the colours it won't be a problem for the majority, but a few will see it the wrong way, better be safe than sorry eh :50:

    Have a good time!

I dont wear any football colours on the Old Firm match day. You're probably better off wearing a different coloured coat if you are going to be in with the Celtic fans because some may see the red white and blue and assume you are a hun.

At the last Old Firm game there was lots of fighting outside the ground where the supporters buses park.

Yeah i try to avoid wearing any colours. Although in terms of travelling away in England, your generally safer with colours on. Although that doesn't count on derby day

Don't wear the jacket mate, not worth any hassle. Drink and bigots result in trouble and their narrow-minded brains can't fathom that because your wearing a jacket like that that you aren't a hun.

Enjoy the trip btw - is this your first old firm game?

I see what you're saying, but as already said there's always the slightest risk that a few idiots will take it the wrong way.

    Enjoy your trip :50:

Thanks for all the advice, lads!
Better safe than sorry, I'll just wear my black winter coat then.

Though it's a pity that because of those bigoted *'s foreign visitors to Glasgow (Irishmen, Frenchmen, Dutchmen for example) can't wear their national colours because some bigots see in every colour combination an enemy.

I wonder. Does a green-hearted bigot ever turn to his mate and say: 'I see you're wearing you blue jeans today, ya protestant hun *!'

Or, even better, does a hun ever starts shouting to his wife at the dinner table: 'You * *! Broccoli! How do you dare bringing this green * into my home!'
    :56:

But thanks for all the advice though, lads.:50:

    Yes. :icon_mrgreen:
It would be my first ever Celtic game and my first time in Scotland. I'm really looking forward to it. I just get exited already when I imagine my mate and me singing the YNWA with you lads, feeling the atmosphere in Glasgow and in Celtic Park and watching the game against the huns.

I'm looking forward to meeting a lot of you Celtic Supporters. Because I genuinly believe that you are good folks. Hopefully I get to meet some of the people from TC. :icon_mrgreen:
