For all the times he's not played somebody in and shot instead, or for all the times he'* a misplaced pass or lost a tackle, nobody can deny that there isn't anybody else in the team who tries as hard as Samaras does.

Yes he infuriates the life out of me sometimes but he's scored so many great and important goals for us (see below) and he epitomises everything you want in a Celtic player and that is he plays for the jersey and inspires those around him to do the same, although last year there seemed to be too few other players in the squad who shared the same work ethic and winning mentality as Samaras.

    YouTube - Georgios Samaras/best goals

I have a great fear that when the day comes that Samaras decides to move on there will be a deep feeling of regret for giving this guy such a hard time when he always tried playing for our great club and gave his all to the cause - which is more than can be said for a lot of players currently at the club and players who have been at the club!

he burst a gut yesterday, no one says other wise I don't think, none that I've seen. It's his position that gets folk talking. He aint a striker. Fortune was running down the right and samaras was to the left of his defender (further than his def to fortune) in the box - he shouldn't be there. he should be closest to fortune. a real striker would've been ahead of his defender
he can play as a winger though.

he isnt as bad as he's made out to be but he gives the ball away and makes silly mistakes too often.

I think the ideal formation for us is to play both Fortune and Samaras as well as a goalscorer like Hooper. This would allow Samaras and Fortune to move around outside the penalty area dragging the oppositions defenders all over the place leaving space for Hooper to score goals. There were times yesterday were these two both did this but we had no strikers in the box.

I feel the samaras haters are far more vocal than his supporters and this is truly to the detriment of his game. We are called 'supporters' for a reason.

Think he should play as a wide forward in a 4-3-3

    Sums it up really.

He's got almost a goal every second game for us. We paid a million for him.

Unfortunately he's not enough of a brute for some fans who see lee mcculloch-esque fly-kicks as a sign of passion and determination.

He is a victim of the moronic mindset of scottish fans and should go to a league/culture where his ability is appreciated.

Loves the club as well. Shame.

the only reason i dont like him playing is cause he takes to long on the ball and always goes for the wront pass

Sammy is a poor player. No one can argue otherwise. Yes, he has scored a couple of good goals, but the sun shines on a dogs * occasionally.

I never wish to overly criticise anyone who wears the hoops, but this guy is not a player, the sooner he moves on the better.

His control, passing, touch and vision is terrible. He consistently makes wrong choices at crucial times. Get him out of CP now!

quotes like this do my head in, so "pish" is a man who has played in the last 16 of the champions league for Celtic, lead the line on his own for his country against Argentina at the world cup and has won the league and cups with Celtic.

Many also forget he is only 25 and is just coming into his peak years and 31 goals in 77 games is by no means a poor record for a player who has been played outwide by different managers.

So before you go splurting such moronic insults like "pish" think before you speak and learn to SUPPORT your club's players after all, you are meant to be a SUPPORTER? :50:

i don't appreciate giving the ball away, no tactical sense, being greedy with the ball, being a dummy spitter and not trying to get the ball back AT ALL after he loses it. i don't appreciate it. hasn't scored a goal since moby * was a minnow. i'd take 2 mil quid and push him off.
