he gives the ball away easily and does nothing to try and get the ball back afterwards which is just as well because he's the worst tackler i've ever seen. nothing earth shattering. all things we know already including lenny. lenny has nobody to blame but himself. i thought he told sammy to GTF after ross county last year yet here he still is. don't complain when he lets you down lenny, it's you who've let all of us down by continuing to play him

The reality facing Celtic fans is that we grew accustomed to watching the likes of Sutton & BBJ. Before them was PVH & Di Canio, etc and so it went. Players of this calibre cost more than what Celtic can afford anymore. In a way we are now forced to scour the world, looking for hidden gems. Trouble is there are precious few gems out there that can be got for relative peanuts, as was the case with Henrik.

Which means we are going to have to get used to players that cost a couple of million (tops), that are not going to have the same pedigree or be the complete package. They will have their flaws. Its inevitable. Sammy's flaw is that he is inconsistant, can be indecisive & has a penchant to be greedy.

The reality is, for the time being at least, we had better tailor our expectations and realize that we are more likely to sign another player similiar to Sammy in the years to come, than we are to sign another Sutton or Hartson.

ohhh ffs cmon the guy must be the dumbest * in scottish fitbaw he consistently does the wrong thing!!! HOW THE * CAN THAT BE GOOD FOR CELTIC. sorry for getting angry but come offit

lets get rid and move on.

if we continue to play this guy were going steadily backwards, opposition teams must relish his name on the team sheet.

he's an unintelligent football player and too easy to read which makes him next to useless for us:31::31::31:

i know he's trying, i know he wants to succeed but lets call it a day.... for him.... as well as for US

Can't disagree Ballboy, how many chances can he get, about 90% of our play went through him yesterday and * all came out of it, but until Lenny sees it i'm afraid we're stuck with him!!

What's wrong about the past few critical posts is Samaras was our best attacker. Yet he is singled out for criticism - very strange.

Again, the gripe with Samaras, for me anyway, is the fact he doesn't do it often enough.

He reminds me of Pepe Le Pew the way he floats about. He is so hot/cold it's unbelievable.

I agree, I think Samaras was only worthy of a 6 or 7 because in the final third his decision making was at it's worst this season. On the plus side he constantly had the beating of Whittaker and when we're attacking we're not * defending so his general contribution is a big fat positive - he also (intelligently) took the tackle from McCulloch which should've seen a red card given but the ref bottled it.

The majority of fans are getting things so wrong. Ki we were promised would be bullied and kicked off the park by McCulloch and the other knuckle-draggers yet he was the best player on the park. Juarez we were promised would provide a bit of dig and technique to counter-attacks - he was an empty shirt.

Stokes was supposed to be cutting in and scoring (empty shirt), McCourt was supposed to be scoring magical solo runs and beating players left right and centre (Paddy's * empty shirt).

Hooper fair enough got the goal but was bossed by Weir and Boughy, no fault of his own that our tactics at times were boot the ball high at our mini striker. He was another that gets pass marks from me.

Ledley had his quietest game yet albeit having had a great season so far. Question is why does Samaras get all the stick?

That's a tough one but I think with Sammy (and Loovens) being associated with two consecutive years of failure , it obviously counts against them , Maloney was also getting a good share of criticism untill he upped his game this season , but I think all 3 of them could be fall guys if this season ends in more failure..

Mikey so glad to see someone watched the same game as me for a change lol. Totally agree with your review on most players there. Juarez did disappoint, I was hoping for more and I honestly didn't see Hooper touching the ball 2nd half which was more to-do with lack of support and the long aimless balls being sent to him which you referred to. Thought Ledley done ok, even tho it wasn't really working for him he kept digging away, trying to make something happen. In the 2nd half if Sammy wasn't on the park were the * would our attacking threat have been?

This x100. It's all I've been hearing from some people, how he's a wee fairy and gets bullied out of games, even though it's not actually happening, even last week when he was playing fine there were shouts in the match thread during the game, KI'S TOO LIGHTWEIGHT FOR THIS GET HIM AFF when he hadn't put a foot wrong. I'm not even sure where people are getting this idea, he's not a small lad or anything.

We should be pointing the finger at Stokes and not Samaras.

Exactly, but we can't possibly not give Sammy grief after a bad result.

Was clearly our best player yesterday. Yet people seem to still give him stick. He was the only one who gave a toss and he tried his heart out, he would make runs forward and when he got there there was no one to pass to, so when he couldnt skin 3/4 defenders people got angry with him.

Glad hes our number 9 and think he deserves a lot of credit.

i can see that he does try like *. but at the end of the day you would expext every single player who plays for celtic to do the same.

At the end of the day imo he was * shocking yesterday. He slowed the play down all the time by not passing quick enough. other great runs made by other players were never noticed due to him playing in his own wee bubble. and time after time he tried to take on his marker down the wing which he never actually done once.

The only thing he was good at yesterday was winding the rangers players up by a knee in the face or by bringing them down with shocking tackles. This im sure only mahe them want to win even more.

For me he failed to turn up for an old firm game again. Fair play most the team failed to turn up.
However samaras has played in quite a few of these games now. If it was me he def would not play in the next one

I think Samaras was worse in the final third than usual but a large part of this for me at times was there was nothing on - he was consistently beating Whittaker but raising his head to see the only option the midget Hooper dwarved by Weir and Bougherra, Samaras was too inclined to cut in.

So on the one hand he had a great game (the beating of his man again and again), on the other, once he beat him he couldn't deliver and had a *, so all in all just about pass marks.

Samaras if far too quick. How many times does he beat a man, and get to the bye-line/edge of the box, and no * is in the box with him. he then has to hold up the ball. which gives defenders time to get back.

We need to get off his back. He is a great player
