As much as I agree with 'Caterpillar' and would like European football to go away until at least this time next year, when I hope both Manager and Players (most of them) will still be around and be better equipped to handle the CL, sadly we need a long run in Europe each and every year,
    1. For the money it generates.
    2. To attract the better quality players ...usually from other Leagues.
    3. To keep the likes of Suarez and Ledley happy as they came to The Club not to play in the SPL but in the CL.
If all we had to offer was the SPL, we would have a lower standard of Team and a 1/2 empty stadium for every home match. However, whoever we get in the play-offs (even The New Saints from Wales) we are bound to make it difficult for ourselves.

we'll need to wait to see if we get the money for these defenders first, i.e. aiden mcgeady's transfer

    draw format

The 74 clubs are divided into seven groups for the draw – five of ten teams and two of 12. Within the seven groups an equal number of sides will be seeded and unseeded in accordance with the club rankings established at the beginning of the season. A ball will be taken from each of the bowls containing seeded and unseeded teams, and placed in a large empty bowl in the middle where they will be shuffled. The first club drawn will play its first match at home and sides from the same association cannot be drawn against each other.ny draw format

    Easiest? This team?

The club currently plays in the Challenge League, the second tier of Swiss football. Recently, Lausanne-Sport qualified for the 2010–11 UEFA Europa League after they lost the 2010 Swiss Cup final against Champions League-qualified Basel

The SPL is obv the main concern this year, but ssome sort of run in europe is essensial, weather it be the group stages or 1st knock out round, as Celtic and Scotlands co-efficiants are falling fast. We need to get our rating up quickly. If im not mistaking the SPL winners this year need to qualify to get into the CL next season (it may be the season after this), but a much easier route than what we have faced the last 2 seasons.
Thats why im happy Motherwell are through, even though they will prob go out next round as they are unseeded. And none of us want Rangers to win and I think they will strugle big time in the CL this year but we need them to bring something to the table also

Celtic are seeded for the draw
There are 37 seeded teams and 37 non-seeded teams
Celtic are the 15th best team out of the 37 seeded teams according to the UEFA club rankings
Mallorca are unable to take their place due to financial reasons so Villareal have taken their place
    Teams Celtic could face:
    Anorthosis
    Aris Thessaloniki
    Brondby
    Grasshopper
    Rapid Vienna
    Timisoara
    APOEL Nicosia
    PAOK
    Vaslui
    Lech Poznan
    Trabzonspor
    Sibir
    Genk
    Tavriya
    Karpaty
    Maritimo
    Elfsborg
    Utrecht
    Sturm Graz
    Gent
    Lausanne-Sport

    Maribor
    Dinamo Minsk
    Qarabag
    HJK Helsinki
    Aktobe
    Dnepr
    Gyori ETO

The majority of teams are really bad, but there are some good teams like Dortmund, Rapid, trabzon.
