Anthony Stokes

I think give lennon a chance most of his signings look decent apart from in utrecht, I've got a feelin lenny will pull a few crackers out the hat tomororrow. I can see about 4 signings tomorrow. Give Stokes a chance hes young, can put the ball in the net and for 1.2 mil is he really a big gamble.

 

So what if we get another Fortune, 5 million down the swanny and few striking options ? Come on, place would be in uproar

 

the place is in uproar. he has made 11 signings and we dont look any diferent from the team he was boss of at the end of the season. we are signing players that are no better than what we have got. i just dont believe lennon has a good eye for a player and he is signing far too many average players.

 

Take the gamble out of it then !!we knew what keane could give us so all our efforts should have been on him ages ago and then at least we had time for a plan b ,tbh i,d rather have waited until january if there was nobody around at the moment rather than get yet another squad player !!

Well the fraction that don't agree with a manager building his own team are yes. Fact is Stokes outscored our strikers last season, if he can do that for Hibs I'd like to think he'll do the same for us. I'm happy to judge them at the end of the season. Agreed some signings have already shown they won't cut the mustard- but they've had a chance to show themselves in a Celtic jersey; an opportunity that some folk don't seem to grant Stokes

 

Just an opinion that we should be going after a better quality striker m8 ,when he signs everybody will be rooting for him 100% i,ll definately be happy to eat humble pie if he does the buisness!!

 

At least 800K isn't awfully large sum. Not happy with Stokes, TBH.

 

Don't know mate. I think Stokes and Hooper will be better strikers than Sammy and Fortune. He's brought in Ledley, Kayal and Juarez all three better than N'Guemo imo. Got rid of Naylor brought in Mulgrew, fair play he's pish but Izaguirre from what I've heard is better than Nyalor. Cha, not convinced yet. GK, didn't matter who he brought in as no one could have really replaced Boruc. He tried and failed with a few top targets in Bellamy, Cambell, James but they were offered a deal and didn't accept, not Lennon's fault. Imo, most positions have been made stronger or players sold because we couldn't knock it back.
Now I do think that we still need a CB and on top of Stokes another striker.

 

kayal and juarez coudnt even get in our midfield on sunday ahead of scott brown? so are they better than what we had as scott brown is the definition of what we had !!

key positions/players should have been identified when lennon took over,so if/when he got the job permanently he was able to act immediately..especially with euro qualification coming up.....

in regards to strikers, murphy,hooper and stokes dont really rock my boat...we could of got jelevic 4mill.m harewood free,emile heskey 1mill for the same money as what weve spent ....although these players may have their criticisms i would of been a lot happier.....these 3 are just an example mind.

 

how after 11 signings can we still be needing some players? thats an utter joke !
he has signed 3 strikers and you think we need another?
he has signed 3 full backs and 2 of them are rubbish, the other we will have to wait and see.
1 centre half that looked terrible in utrecht.
a goalkeeper who was 3rd choice at a team promoted from the championship.
3 midfielders of which 2 coudnt get a game infront of brown on sunday.

do we really want him to buy anyone else looking at what he has done already in the transfer market??

 

rested for what? we dont have a game for 2 weeks?? we dont have big jam of fixtures coming up this autumn?

 

Something needed done! Brown could just as easy have been left out yesterday. Its a wake up call to all the players that they can't perform so bad and expect to play every week. Give Stokes a chance! If he starts firing in the goals then there will be no complaints. Get of the guys back with all this "he's not Celtic class!" talk. Who is in this day in age??

why not a good example?......both played for hibs.both linked to celtic.fletchers quality was there to see thats why burnley paid 3.5mill(look at him now)......if stokes is such quality why is everyone else not chasing him and why only 1mill.

why are the english teams not happy to pay over the odds we this *?

Well for a start Kayal played 90 minutes in Utrecht.

 

stokes will get my support as does every celtic player just my opinion that he aint good enough. time will tell but if we are having a discussion about it then all we can do is give our opinion. i hope im wrong but its just my opinion.
if its wake up calls he was giving out then why didnt he give it to the one that needs it most yet he seems to be the blue eyed boy in lennons eyes. yes mr brown please stand up
