Things are a bit complicated, but it's not related to McGeady rather than to Smolentsev, who is under fire from fans and now from Spartaks boss.

60-70% of the fans want him since we don't have any clear wingers and we desperately need them. Although newspaper bullshit regarding car driver etc made negative effect on some fans but mostly on those who do not want to think deeply

if mcgeady moves to Moscow it will be for the money more than anything else sadly. it wouldn't be the best move for his career and i dont see it as the nicest place to live. if he does move to Moscow i hope he does well and i hope we spend the money wisely

If people are expecting us to sign a new keeper, and Ramis, and Bellamy etc etc, then Mcgeady must certainly leave.

If people think we're fine as we are, and don't need any further signings, then Mcgeady can stay.

 

If it's true it's certainly the best option for Mc Geady and Celtic, going to Russia would not suit Mc Geady, if you don't know anyone or know the language it's terrible place to be. I have spent time there for the last six years, it's rife with gangsters and crooked officials.

 

Thanks for that. I think he has the ability to succeed and he won't be playing in matches with 2 or 3 players constantly marking him like in some games in Scotland which is an advantage. The Russian league has a number of skillful wingers such as Danny and Bystrov who was with Spartak unlike in Scotland where players like McGeady are rare at the moment.
