  4. McManus

Did not travel has played his last game for us , and is due for a Medical at Boro some time today or early tomorrow , fee is 1.5 /2 mill ball park ,

Boro will train in the North- East this week before embarking on a two-game tour of Ireland, and Strachan remains confident that Stephen Mc- Manus will be part of the group that crosses the Irish Sea for matches against Athlone Town and Bray Wanderers.
Boro will hold further talks with Celtic in the next 24 hours to iron out the finer details of a deal that will be worth around £1.5m. McManus, who is expected to sign a three-year contract, will then travel to Rockliffe Park to undergo a medical.

  5. Well, hopefully we can use that money to get a quality player.

  6. Fantastic bit of business (if the 2 million mark is accurate)for a player who hasn't improved a great deal in the last few years.

Now to move on McGeady, another player who just hasn't come close to fulfilling his potential.

  7. I know this is not a topic for here, but I do not see why getting rid of McGeady would be an option. We are soo less creative without him. He is definitely one of the best if not THE best player on the team.

  8. I'll start a new thread mate, we can chat in there.

  9. Sounds good.:50:

  10. lost his way but best of luck to him and some money in and get a quality replacement in:bbpd:

  11. was the fee for McManus not closer to £500,000?!? (BBC sport yesterday)

**edit** just seen £2million quoted for him now.

  12. I think Middlesboro paid something up front for the loan of Mick and then probably have to sort out the rest of the fee..

Didn't Middlesboro have Sean St Ledger on loan (prior to Mick) at the cost of £2m for a season but decided not to pay the extra £1.5m or thereabouts to make that deal permanent..

Anyway , all the best to Mick..

  13. all the best to mick. i'll try and remember the good games he had.....and i'll banish his last season with us to the bin.

  14. good bit of business, never rated him as a player but i liked him as a person! all the best at boro mick :50::shamrock:

  15. saying bye a lot today,all the best mick:50:

  16. All the best big man, you lifting the trophy at Tannadice is one of my greatest memories as a Celtic fan.

Your part in that great climax to the season and many other great nights at home and in Europe is far too easily forgotten.

    HAIL HAIL Mick :50:

  17. hail hail mick a fellow supporter and club captain good luck down south ! TAL

  18. we cant really expect to bring in good fees for players we slate and want rid of but want to bring in players we rate as good players for the same price.

  19. It was reported earlier to be about £1,8m. - £2m. So I was just a bit dissapointed to see we "only" got £1,5m.
