We all wish it would happen but it will never happen as we can't afford it. It is a shame but we have to let it go. I'd be happy with a striekr who can hit 25 a season for a 1/3 of what we would pay for Keane, unless of course keane would cost us £3million.

cant see it happening at all. Was always gona be the same situation as bellamy. Get him back enjoying his football and move back to the epl.

Love keano .. for his short stay at the club .. hes been a great servant to the club. Its a shame it was one of the worst seasons we had in years.

Love the man but if it means 50-100% of our transfer budget, I'm not for it.

Keane will score at least 80% of Celtic goals.

Don't think there's any chance of us getting Keane permanantly. Not when Spurs can seemingly flog him to Villa or Wolves or someone for upwards of £8m

i agree, i dont think we will get Keane but im optimistic about big Sol Campbell, seems as if he wants to come to us and did he not say he was waiting on Lennon to get the job? now that Lennon is the full time boss i can see this one happening :84:

The only person that could make this deal actually happen is robbie keane!

I personally dont see it happening there are too many factors against him coming, his next deal may be his last big paycheck.

i am sure money will be a factor as he has a young family.

He may want to stay in england as his wife has recently had a baby.

Spurs will want to SELL to the highest bidder to boost their own transfer funds.

There will be other epl teams who will be willing to pay in excess of 6m for his services.

We may not be able to even come close to his wage demands.

I for one would love to see him in the hoops again, it was always my dream to see him scoring at the copland rd end and doing his celebration in front of their fans.

Just dont see it happening, we have a limited budget and it needs to be used wisely as there are many areas in the team that need improving!

from an unbiast point of view ... i honestly believe robbie keanes the best striker ... spurs have. Even better than defoe. Id be really surprised if spurs dont want to keep him, given that they have champions league football next season. Robbie keane is made for the big stage like that. We've seen it at world cups and big international games for ireland.

At the same time aswell though ... it would be brilliant if he decided he wanted a bit of stability at a club, and opted to stay with us. Cus hes been through a fair few in england. Unlikely though i think.

I think the board is finally beginning to understand (with the help of Lenny) that how much money is put in often affects how much money we get in return. If we managed to sign Keane and Bellamy (and Sol, Ledley and Liam) is there really a chance that we wouldnt win the SPL this year? That would give us the CL money, and with those signings I could even see our team make it through the CL qualifiers this year with the right draw. The board need to start taking risks and it starts with players like Keane.

the only hope as pelethebhoy says if Keane decides to come back himself. What i would be hoping for is that he has enjoyed the taste of playing for Celtic and that he thinks he has unfinished business or he ows it to the fans to come back up for a full season and win the league so that we can then see him as a proper hero?

if dd and obrien bankrolled these signings yes,but not if it interferes with the rest of the budget, get 2young strikers in hooper and pedersen for half the money

Think we might just have to settle for someone like Pedersen who could be our own gem rather than shelling out £8 million or so on a player like Keane who is already a proven striker.

As has been said, that * Redknapp will want as much as he can for Robbie, whilst he will then bid * all for someone else. Unless the board are putting up some serious money , then i don't think we should blow that sort of money on Keane. For that amount, i think we could get better.Or spend it on two players.
