Please dont leave Boruc!

The boruc of a couple of years ago no certainly not, the boruc of nowadays I think he's just as good.

We can't keep him solely because he winds the rangers fans up, we either get 2 million for him now or lose him for nothing next year.

He let his manager (mowbray) down big time aswell this season the number of soft goals he conceaded wasn't good enough from a goalkeeper of his calibre, he let us down in some big games, alough he did improve towords the end of the season I'm yet to be convinced his heart and his head are fully with the club.

 

No, we keep him because he is the best keeper in Scotland at this moment, he still pulls off world class saves, I would happily lose 2m now just to keep him for another season, his vital saves will win us many points I am certain of that. I agree with you however in some respect, Zaluska is a capable replacment but I still dont think he is even close to Boruc.

This might seem harsh but wasnt Zaluska in goal in the 4-0 thrashing of St Mirren? Yes the defence must take some blame but he didnt exactly command his box in that game

 

Zaluzka was terrible against st mirren, but any other game he has done very well and made some good saves and boruc has * up many a time this season and got away with it.

I'm not boruc bashing here, I just think it would make sense to get the money for him and get him off the wage bill because he hasn't been doing it for us for a couple of season's now.

 

plus his contract is up next summer and he can go for zilch then. He is on 25k a week - we should sell him if we get an offer and allocate those wages elsewhere

Did Boruc not play alot of the start of season up until he had surgery in october injured? Was he not carrying a thigh problem as well as the knee that was stopping him getting down to his right side i think i think it was? Mean why they didnt get him in for surgery sooner was a little odd.
In my opinion he was just hitting top form again when he unfortunatley had to go on compassionate leave.
Zaluska just doesn't convince me. Yes this season it is hard to judge a keeper when that defence was as bad as it was infront of them but some of zaluska's positioning is well suspect. St Mirren that night he didn't cover himself in glory. None of them did but he looked very dodgy at 2 of the goals.
In other words keep him and offer up a new contract unless it is silly money somone is offering.

 

I will be devastated if Celtic sell Artur Boruc. Of all the players in the Celtic squad he is by far the last one I would want to leave. I'm probably a bit biased because he's my favourite ever Celtic player but I still think he's a top goalkeeper and much better than Lukasz Zaluska. That means he is worth keeping.

People are saying 'we can't keep him because he winds up the Huns'. It's not just a case of that. Boruc is extremely well liked by Celtic fans and that should never be underestimated or under-valued. At a time when so many players in our squad don't seem to play for the jersey, have any sort of character about them or have a rapport with the Celtic support I think it's great to have at least one player who the fans love and can relate to.

Agree 200%, Celtic fans have a strong bond with him, I like the fact that he hurts when we lose to the huns, he is also my favourite Celtic player of all time and should be kept until HE wants to leave imo

 

why the * are there people * bent on wanting to get rid of boruc?

* its like the thread about keane ffs! we haw and blaw about quality in the team that has vanishsed in recent seasons but we have 1 or 2 quality players and you dont want them. what * exactly do you want

Should only be sold if someone is willing to offer "silly money", which I cant see. Zalaluska was a very astute signing by Strachan, it keeps Boruc focused because he knows if doesn't do the business then Zalauska will. They're both very good keepers but Boruc on top form is among the best in Europe. Boruc is a big game player aswell, hes had some great nights in Europe.

 

Totally Agree !!! Boruc Must Stay .... the best keeper Iv seen in many years !!! Every player has had a bad season ... think of the shifts this man has put in and he wants to play for us ... Need I say anymore

 

One of the best keepers we have ever had ,a true legend and i think he's heading back into his form, DON'T GO ! Zaluska is Scotland's and Celtic's 2nd best goalkeeper but why let the best one leave ?

 

Reading this thread I completely understand what your saying mate. Some people I just cant fathom out. Boruc is the best keeper we have had in my lifetime, and long may he continue in goals for us. People see Zaluska as a good replacement for Boruc, Zaluska is good, but is not in Arturs league.

 

Boruc isnt probably just the best player we have, he is also by far the most passionate about Celtic. And hates Rangers just as much as any of us.

And passion and love for a club from a player is something no money can buy, and many of our fans are ready to let him leave for 2M like he means nothing because his contract expires next year. Maybe if the support showed him a bigger backing he would maybe consider signing a new contract in the summer instead of leaving.

 

boruc is our best ever keeper. end of. the big man has delivered on so many occasions, to say "its time for him to go" is outrageous, just because we have a good 2nd choice in zlauska, who i would happily see as our first choice if artur was to leave, doesnt mean we can say to a truely great keeper "its time for you to go"

 

Yeah, I'm in favor of keeping him here.....Hopefully the new manager will work out an extension with him...
