Please dont leave Boruc!

I really dont want to see him leave, he is one of the most memorable keepers of all time. He still makes brilliant saves on a regular basis and is the best keeper in the spl imo. People say his time is up, my question is why? Why would we let one of the best keepers we have had for a long time go? Im 90% sure we wont find a better keeper anytime soon, his form at the start of the year was dodgy, he has since got back to his best and didnt he get the save of the year award? He is a powerful character and I really dont understand why we wouldn't offer him a contract extension. He is still only 30, got 4 possibly even more good years left in him surely? I only have to see him and has me in fits laughing! I love to see the big man winding up the huns and I would be honestly gutted if he was to leave.

If he wants to leave, we cant do too much about that but if he wants to stay why not keep him? CL night's wouldn't be the same without Boruc doing something daft! :icon_mrgreen:

 

I would like him to stay but he we could get some money for him esp as he has only 1 year left on his contract i would take it as i think Laluska is a good number two .

 

give him a new contract now! i do not want to see that great keeper of ours going either!

 

I've slated him in the past for some of the stupid things he's done but i would honestly be gutted if he was to go....Top Top Keeper IMO

 

I would give him one more season to prove that the most important thing to him, is performing for Celtic.

I think he's got a bit complacent over the years, he needs to lose the beef and get fully focused on performing to the standard that we know he can. Granted he has had some problems in his private life, which was unavoidable of course but I still feel he could be doing a bit more.

Arguably one of the best keepers ever to step foot on Celtic Park, yet he's not showing it consistently.

Great keeper, should try to keep hold of him.
But if it were to happen we have a more than capable replacement in zaluska.

 

i want him to stay but as zaluska is desent cover if the board are offered 4mil+ for him they would think bout selling him

 

Same old argument really Boruc is one of the clubs highest earners something like 25k a week with addons up to 30k i think (apart from keane but he is on loan) so a contract extension would inevitably increase that wage and celtics maximum wage cap is already what boruc is earning. Then if we were to sell him what kind of fee will we get id say 3/4 mill max.

Or we could offer an extension of 2 years boruc is back to his best next season, then with 2 years left on his contract we could then sell him for a little bit more say 6/7 mill. All conjecture obviously but i do feel boruc is now returning to his best form.

 

I wouldn't want to see Boruc leave. He has definitely been one of our best keepers ever. Zaluska is a more than capable replacement, but I really hope that Boruc stays with us for at least a couple more seasons.

 

wouldny take any less than 7 million for him.if he was in the premiership he would be worth that easily,if not more so * them.they want our top players they can pay top money

 

i think they only way boruc will leave celtic if he gose bk to his home club in poland other than that he is die hard celtic fan he is the best keeper in scotland and it would take about 5-8mill for celtic to sell him but then they would have big problems sorry i like zaluska but he is a liabilty sorry but true

I think his form has definitely dipped over the past two seasons.

I don't think it's just his private life, he's had a lot of injuries as well and it may be they have taken their toll.

You have to look beyond the 'holy goalie' and 'winding up huns' stuff and analyse his game.

His kicking is pretty poor, he has always been a bit suspect at crosses, he doesn't look as agile as he did from 2005-2007 and most notably, a lot of the self belief and swagger seems to have gone, you very rarely see him charging out and pointing at defenders the way he used to.

While I'm in no great desire to see the guy leave, I don't think it would be the end of the world if he did.

 

Punt him, 2 million or more, we have a perfectly good goalie in zaluzka.

 

i think we should sell him before he is released at the end of next season. He was necessary 2 years ago when he was brilliant and we had mark brown as a substitute 'goalkeeper' (use that term loosely). I like Boruc but he hasnt hit those heights of 2 years ago yet and we have a capable replacement. I wouldnt say we should be trying to sell him as such, only if an acceptable offer comes in

 

it would devastate me if he left honestly the greatest goalkeeper i have ever seen in the flesh, people are saying hes not as good as he was but with our defence the past few years you can understand if hes not looked as reliable with that defence he's been exposed every game, i think you sort the defence out you will see the best of the holy goalie again
