I for one am really looking forward to the club captain returning, he is a leader and because mowbray mucked him about at the start of the season he was a little disalussioned so im sure under lenny he'll be back to his best.

McManus might be a good captain and leader - sadly he doesn't have the defending ability to go with it.

Sadly, I would take him back right now over any defender at the club at this moment in time... Easily!

For anyone to come on here and say what about Hooifveld and Rogne, no one on this forum or in our entire support has seen enough of either 2 of these boys at the moment, so at this present time, I would have McManus back in our defence in a heart beat.

Remember after the 1st 5/10 games of McManus, Odea and Kennedy's Celtic careers, they were being raved about as the next Billy McNiel

Far to early to judge Rogne and Hooifveld

£2m from Middlesboro and I'd be more than happy to see his move south become permanent.. Definately comes across as a leader off the park but is too error prone and probably unlikely to improve at his age.. Would still be a decent backup if the Middlesboro thing falls through..

Viper is right, i would have him in the back now, but longer term we need better
and to be honest we need to go forward not backwards

Look at Naylor! last saturday he was our dead ball specialist, is this what we require, players in the doldrums returning, with no flair what so ever

    dont thinkso onwards and upwards

I would see him on the pitch before O'Dea or Thompson (At the moment, or possibly ever). I assume Zaluska and Boruc panic when O'Dea gets the ball... "He's going to punt it at the goal again isn't he..."

Exactly what I mean mate, at this precise moment I would have him, and i bet Lenny thinks so too.

Il wait and judge Rogne and Hooifveld after a long run in the team, as with the rest of Moggas signings, his policy didnt exactly inspire confidence, so it wouldnt suprise me if we find out at least one of these boys aint up to much either ala Fortune, Brahfied, Thomson etc... etc...

As you say Catepillar, hopefully witha new boss in place in the summer, onwards and upwards mate

Hope he does not return, strikes me as too much of a Mr Nice Guy to be the leader.

I don't think McManus is the answer long term, I'm hoping Hooiveld is but until I see him I can't judge therefore right now I'd rather have McManus in the team than the current lot, can't believe I'm saying that as I don't rate McManus at all, lovely fella, loves Celtic but ulitmately not good enough :54:

BRING BACK MICK.....he would tackle his granny if it meant celtic winning. He is a Celtic man, with the club at heart. He knows what it means to win and lose with the club. Remember he won 3 in a row. Caldwell won 2 in a row, yet these two have been punted yet Glenda Loovens has been kept?????????????? What have we won since he came to parkhead????? The league cup, thats all.

Dont know why McManus has been made a scapegoat by a lot of people, but the lads that sit around me would prefer O'Dea to McManus on the grounds that 'O'Dea is Irish and cares more about the club'...what Pish.

    Keep Mick.....rant over:rolleyes:

i like mcmanus.he had a bad final seaon under strachan when he played thru injury too many times.he contributed far more than caldwell imo,him and hooiveld could strike up a good partnership.to my mind hes a far better ambassador for the club than scott clown, plus he scores more!
