Mcgeady and his big time pal o'dea

Just wondering if anyone was at parkhead when the players came back, heard o'dea and mcgeady werny happy about being dogged. I was down at the game but had to get the bus back up the road to inverness, but wanted to wait for O'dea and pan his big time face in. He thinks he is maldini they way he strolls about the park. He's terrible, slow, weak. cant beleive players like him get to wear the strip. I was out the in glasgow a few weeks ago and seen him out in Karbon. He is a ned, seen him squaring up to a boy and he was steaming. He should be thankfull he plays for celtic. Total *!:31:

Mcgeady totally gave up on Saturday,

    It was disgusting to watch.

He's gave up on Celtic & needs a new challange.

Hope Lennon calls his bluff & let's him move on.

I agree with the setiment that it's time for McGeady to go. He is such a frustrating player to watch. He's got everything to absolutely dominate in this league and be a top player for us in Europe but he's hasn't quite put in together.

Someone on one of those SPL review shows (I think if was BBJ) said that what Ashley Young is doing for Villa is what McGeady should be doing for Celtic.

Lol ye a little bit of a ridiculous statement to come out with! Do you even know what NED means? He is actually intelligent, got 7 1s and a 2 in his standard grades so don't think you can call him a NED....

He's 24 years old. This should be his prime years. In actuality, he's a petulant kid who hasn't improved as a player in about 3 years. He's a bit-part player for Ireland, a side not exactly blessed with flair. If he isn't doing it now, he's never going to.

For me, all talk of "the right motivation" and "potential" go right out of the window when you hit 23. At 23 you're a grown up in football terms, you're a professional footballer, and you'll be judged as one. And lets face it - how lucky was McGeady to survive the 08/09 January window?

I would always cut players slack if they are improving as they come through their 20's because experience can make more of a player , but it's often excused in Scotland that players are young laddies still to reach potential , when they are approaching the best years of their career but are actually stagnating..
I think Riordan came to us when he was 25 and was still getting away with the "when he reaches his potential" nonsense from some media outlets.. Homegrown players used to be picking up full International caps in their teens but it doesn't seem to happen as much these days.. The one thing going for Celtic with regards to Mcgeady is that he can be sold for a fairly high price because he still has a couple of transfers left in his career and someone like Spurs may pay £7m or £8m for him , knowing they could recoup the majority of that in a sale to another premiership club 3 years down the line , which makes it a lower risk gamble for someone to take a punt on him..

  11. He's now on his third or fourth manager, all playing different styles of football, and he still hasn't found one who can motivate him? Get a grip mate. Stop making excuses.

been watchin celtic for 45 years still go to all the games home and away and in europe and mcgeady is the most hyped up and overrated celtic player i have seen why is it that all the younger supporters think hes the best thing since sliced bread. Is it because he plays for Ireland ? Methinks so. We are still waitng for him to fulfil his potential if you listen to all the reports about him being a wonderful prospect!! He started playing for first team at 17,he is now 24,yes 24! .He is supposed to be a striker/winger.He has scored the wonderful total of 34 goals in one of the shitiest football leagues in europe He has scored 2goals,yes i repeat 2 goals against european opposition !! All this in 7 years what a great * prospect eh?.he still hasnt learned how to cross a ball, he still hasnt learned how to shoot at goal .He cant tackle .When he loses the ball, which is mostly the case,he goes into a silly little schoolboy strop holding his head in his hands . Then he blames everyone else.I have also heard that he has been disrespectful to supporters ,not signing autographs etc for kids.So can someone out there tell me why we shouldnt get rid of this wee diddy.?

Aiden McGeady is the future of Celtic, pure & simple.

He's our best player by a mile and is the one we should be building the team around.

If he goes then we are up sh*t creek, ok so he's had an inconsistent season but he's done far more than some of the other "players" who have donned the famous hoops this season. Infact, i'd go so far as to say ONLY Boruc & Hinkel have been more consistent.

    McGeady MUST STAY!!!

Depends who we bring in. I thought it would be hard after losing di canio, pierre and cadete and we won the spl as we played as a TEAM the next season

My thoughts exactly. I have been slaughtered for months with my McGeady rants, and now people are finally starting to see him for what he is............An over-rated player in a * league, Pretty much the same as Barry-backpass.

Finally people are coming round to my way of thinking

Allegedly, he's a winger. But, he can't cross, he can't pass, he can't shoot, he doesn't stay wide, he runs into crowds of defenders rather than space, he tries to dribble from too deep, he lacks the work rate a winger needs to defend.

He can't take corners, he can't take free kicks.

On top of all that, he picks up stupid bookings, keeps falling out with teammates and coaching staff, and gets into a fight at least once a month in Karbon with his mate O'Dea.

    Keane's NOT OUR player.

So who has been better than McGeady this season then?

McGeadys the only guy worth going to CP to watch, on his day he is unplayable, i've read the numerous posts saying "he cant pass" "he cant shoot" etc but take him out the team and we have nothing. Still cant believe Mowbray sold Robson coz they were the 2 players i'd have built the team around.

    McGeady MUST STAY!!!
