That - is f*cking idiotic. Hiddink, Guardiola, Ferguson, Mourinho, O'NEILL couldn't motivate this bunch of bollocks we have at our club right now. I remember Fortune saying he came to Celtic because he wanted winners medals, then a couple of months later said he didn't expect the league to be as hard as it is, basically saying he thought the league would be easy. That is the attitude of the players at Celtic right now and no manager can turn that around if they can't do it themselves. WASTERS man.

Lennon speaks to BBC Sport (Good Listen)

BBC Sport - Celtic squad needs overhaul, says Lennon after cup loss

Neil Lennon's assessment of the game. I didn't watch his one on Sky Sports, was to disgusted to care really, but listening to this, you can tell he does care. He says that you cant kid the fans, you have to earn the right to play for Celtic, but they just went out & took it for granted & says we need a major clear out.
I know this doesn't help, still * off that we are out, but I like to hear that Lennon is seeing it from a supporters point of view..

I just can't believe that our only chance of silverware, & the players give a half arsed performance, they should be ashamed to pick up there wages after that, this season's just been a total shambles really!!

But ye what do you think of the interview?

dunno man, id love roy hodgson but money is the key.

mark hughes has the right attitude from ones who are out of work but maybe some foreign manager could come in.

i do like paul lambert and he could be level we get with lennon as assistant

    Yes.

He does not have the experience, to be honest though i doubt Sir Alex could get our * players to win though!

Was very disappointed when he said 'aye can give them hints and tips, but one thing i cant give them is passion and fight'. EH WHIT? Thats your job Neil to motivate and to manage your players. Or am i missing something?

I think he means, it doesn't matter what you say or do, they just do there own thing & it kind of looked that way today anyway, I just can't believe we can play that way in a Semi Final, When do you ever see Celtic play so badily at the stage of a competition? We are always up for it, tis whats * me off the most..

I agree with him, he is basically saying, if their heart is not in it then its just not gonna happen no matter what!

Point totally missed. A lot of players thought they'd go out there not have to try and they'd wipe the floor with a lower league team. We are a pathetic team, but in no way, no * WAY can you blame Lennon for that. That's just outrageous. The team have let everybody involved with the club down this season. Top managers couldn't motivate a bunch of players who think the game in this country is easy, who might not want to be here etc. No way can you attribute the blame on Lennon's shoulders. Guy's had a hard enough job to do to get this mess right in the first place. I'm incandescent at that.

I think your missing something, too many players don't care that they are playing for Celtic they just come here for the money thinking that they are playing for a big fish in a small pond so they'll have it easy. People like that don't have passion and desire as they take the easy way out all the time, when the going has got tough to many have been posted missing.

very fair analysis by lenny, his heart is in this club, but i still feel we need more experience, or if we're giving his the job bring in hay as director of football.

but back on topic, i think there are a few players (mostly foreigners imo) who neil doesn't fancy due to their attitude, hence the recent bringing back of naylor.

all we can hope for is a miracle for next season and back neil for now, because as bad as it sounds, right now in our position, 2nd is going to be an achievement. :54:

I'm in agreement with everything he said. However, it's simply outrageous to see this man wounded, man who knows what's winning mentality and what it means to play for Celtic. But on the other side, ability of good manager is to pass it on his players. That's supposed to be his strongest side - motivating that mob. He failed. He's not a good manager, he needs experience and needs to learn * basics.

His decisions today were atrocious. Starting with MAF and Samaras, what the *!? Also, Keane as lonely striker is simply a no-go. Taking off N'Guemo for Crosas is sound, but leaving Crosas with Brown!? That's one mad midfield right there. County had 3 midfielders, they easily outplayed them as they were disciplined and had everything we lacked today.

I'm still hopeful we can continue our success with ginger managers, but some other time, Neil, some other time. Leave it to someone better in summer and come back later. I'll give him another chance in future, but he's not the solution right now.

Well done Neil Lennon! He has basically said what we all know and have wanted someone to admit for a good while.

With the squad he has, what other options did he really have? He's been going with these players the last two weeks because he wants to show them he has faith in their abilities, if not their attitude. Yes, they haven't done it al season, but he might have hoped he'd be the man to motivate them. No-one could motivate that mob man. I'd love to see him get the job, but perhaps you're right. Maybe now isn't the right time.

Lennon will not get the job. It requires experience to sort this out and whilst his honesty serves him well, he doesnt have the experience to fix this and we cannot afford for him to learn on the job. I hope he leaves and builds up his CV and comes back to manage us.

I hope all the players in the first team squad are fined a weeks wages for their 'performance' today. They should all be ashamed of themselves.

The interview reminded me of all the reasons I love Neil Lennon. It was direct, honest and had the fans at the heart of it.

Lennon said all the right things imo
He spoke from a fans perspective and apologised for the result
He knows how poor the squad is and not even Lennon can get them up for the game
He said it himself, most of that squad dont deserve to be here

He said as it is - but so did TM - sounds like he lost the dressing room within a week!
