I'm pretty sure it was Neil Lennon who said it, but don't quote me on that.

I've tried to find a quote or an article but to no avail. :54:

Either way, Paddy should remain a Celtic player for as long as possible, even if only for his "super-sub" abilities!

if PAT could get as fit as the other players we have then the guy would be an awesome player but it doesnt look like he has the athleticism that modern players need such a shame

If his name was Boab and he was from down the road you'd all be saying what a waste of time he is, get him out. But no, his names Paddy and he's from Derry so let's all rattle on and on and on about how great he is.

    What a pish comment.

I rave about the guy because of what he's contributed to the team when he's played. Have you seen the goal's that this man is capable of? It's almost Jinky-esque.

    Paddy's playing in the reserves

Just been reading the article on the official website about the reserves winning 4-1 against hamilton, Paul McGowan scored twice along with paddy and Zheng getting goals.

"CELTIC reserves cruised to a 4-1 victory over Hamilton at Lennoxtown on Tuesday afternoon. Paul McGowan netted twice in the first-half before Hamilton replied through a penalty.

Paddy McCourt extended the Hoops’ lead before the break, before Zheng Zhi added a fourth from the spot in the second half to seal a comfortable win."
(Taken from the website, this is for those who were wondering where paddy went :L)

mcgowan on target as reserves win

CELTIC reserves cruised to a 4-1 victory over Hamilton at Lennoxtown on Tuesday afternoon. Paul McGowan netted twice in the first-half before Hamilton replied through a penalty.

Paddy McCourt extended the Hoops’ lead before the break, before Zheng Zhi added a fourth from the spot in the second half to seal a comfortable win.

Reserve coach Danny McGrain was delighted with the performance of the team, and especially Paul McGowan’s contribution.

“I thought they played some decent football on what I thought would be more treacherous surface,” he said. “The boys kept good possession under pressure form a young Hamilton side, but we took full advantage of our experienced team.

“Gowzer (Paul McGowan) is every defender's nightmare because he just never stops working. He twists and turns and capped it off with two goals, so overall he was man of the match.

"From the first minute to the last minute it’s the same pace. He has an incredible engine in him and it’s fantastic.”

There was a good mix of youth and experience in the line-up and McGrain felt the younger players did well.

“We gave Paddy another 90 minutes which is essential to his fitness,” he said. “Ki also got 90 minutes along with Zheng Zhi, Paul Caddis and Mark Wilson. Marc Crosas came off after 45 minutes with a strain but he put in some good work in the first half.

"When you’re playing against a young opposition, alongside players like Zi and Wilson, the younger boys have to take something from that. They have been whole-heartedly giving it everything and it’s been a great learning session for them.”
