I did but I was at the game and it was tough to see how bad the defence was from the opposite end TBH, but still, McGeady & Keane were awful aswell. Doesn't make them bad players.

agreed mate, he's handled most spl strikers so far and is 3-4 years from being 1st team ready. well worth holding onto.

You can be a good defender without pace though man. He's played no more than 20 games his whole career, he shouldn't even be playing in the 1st team this season really.

45 minutes of poor play and you want rid of an up and coming 18 year old with your attitude you probably would of gotten rid of larsson after his debut suppose with mogga gone you need to focus you negativaty on someone else

obviously but i would rather one with pace.too easy to catch out with balls behind the defence.as i said, would loan him out to another spl side next season to get him more experience and see how he does.i could well be wrong but i just think bein that slow will always be too dodgy

Mjallby, Reiper & Stubbs - probably 3 of our best defenders the last 15 years weren't exactly Olympic sprinters :86: I just think it's really harsh slating an 18 year old who's not even played 20 proper games in his career yet. I think him & Rogne could be our partnership for a long time.

He was badly exposed the other night against St Mirren but if he is playing alongside a good Centre he will flourish ,his pace is a slight concern but if he is a good reader of the game that compensates for pace ,he will do well but i wouldnt look at that game the other night ,the whole team was all over the place.

You could'nt be any more wrong mate. No matter how fast you are, there's always going to be someone faster, so by saying "your either fast or slow" just shows where your at in terms of understanding footballing logic.

You dont need to have good acceleration or pace to be a good defender.

Infact i would sacrafice pace for awareness. Being a defender is all about knowing what their going to do next, and acting on it. That's what seperates the good defenders, to the excellent ones.

I know he's young but jeezus he looked like * bambi on roller skates the other night.

Predict he'll be shipped out by the end of the season.

Im sorry but I agree with the negativity. The lad is not good enough. Yes he is young but will not make it in the Celtic team.

Rogne who is only 1yr older looks far better. Very mobile, good in the air and very composed on the ball. For me he is the young 1 who we should be expecting bif things from

Only time will tell I guess. There were a few threads praising him last week......the fickle nature of football fans. :86:

He wasn't a first team stand in....he was a player signed for u19's and only due to a defensive injury crisis he has been called into the first team...

how people can write him off is just silly...lets wait till he has had a season with the 19's and reserves where he belongs then give him a game when he merits it and judge him then....

I agree with the guy who said that we are backing too many second rate players. Try to make comparisons

    Douglas-------Boruc

    Agathe------Hinkel

    Mjallby------Loovens

    Valgaeren---Hooiveld

    Balde--------O'Dea

    Thompson---Braafheid

    Lennon------N'Guemo

    Petrov-------Ki

    Lambert-----Crosas

    Larsson-----Keane

    Sutton------Fortune

Im sorry but the reading is bad guys. There is a massive upheaval needed. Only Boruc IMO would have got into our Uefa cup team. We have signed terrible players for massively inflated prices. Almost every player O'Neill signed for large sums was an instant hit and made a massive impact. IMO not 1 player signed by Mowbray has made any impact never mind large impact.

I have not included McGeady due to formations but he is definately a plyer who would attract a manager. Having Boruc, McGeady and Maloney in the squad would be some sort of attraction for a prospective manager.

A manager knows that when he comes in he needs to sort out a really bad backline knowing that we can probably score enough to win a game as long as we can defend
