Lennon is a decent shout, especially if he can put together an impressive run before the summer.

I still don't think he will be permanent manager though, but it's going to be a long number of months before he is replaced.

Lennon isny managerial material imo. And if ye want tae be a manager, ye don't start at a high-profile club like Celtic. Ye work yer way tae that stature. Of course a want him tae take the reigns till the seasons over but that's it.

But with the amount of deluded fans we have they'll love the fact Lennon is in the hot seat simply because he used tae play for us and loves us.

"It's okay if we * up another season cause the manager is Celtic-minded!" <-- Is what I'm seeing people basically write. Without even asking or knowing how that manager has done in his career previously.

Mowbray didnae do wonders at Hibs. He got West Brom relegated. And we go for him? Why? Hm, a wonder...

We should go fur Mark Hughes a reckon.

Lennon is in charge solely to steady the ship and win the Scottish cup

let's wait and see what premiership managers leave their posts in the summer and bet your bottom dollar our cheap skate board will go after them

after all can we afford more compensation Mogga did cost us 2 million

Give lennon a chance. Ex players who went on to manage early after their careers like Souness, Dalglish and even Gullit to an extent were successful, even pepe guardiola was only in charge of Barca B for a season I believe.

Its not a long term fix just now, only until the end of the season, so give the man a chance.

Whats the problem, lenny is only here till end of season, gives the board time to make the right appiontment.

He wont be manager next season. gives the board time to get it right hopefully.

I don't think people are understanding the concept that Lennon is CARETAKER manager, in that the board are going to exhaust the possibility of about 500,000 other managers before signing Lennon up for next season if it were to come to that (very unlikley).

And what if Lennon were to instill back a fighting spirit in our team? And even a spine? Would that be something to chuck away because of lack of experience?

I am happy Lenny is in the job till the end of the season. I think he is a really brilliant guy. Very intelligent beneath the snarly image he had on the park. Remember though he is not a magic wand. He was assistant manager last season after all and that didnt super-motivate the players then and unless he is one of those really rare naturals like Fergie was (he was brilliant even at St.Mirren) then his CV is miles short of what we need for next season. Delighted short term though.

Its weird but Celtic seem to need gingerness (so its Moyes next season) about the place to have success. If he is assisted by Freil though you will need sun glasses when looking at the dugout:icon_mrgreen:

Woah!!! who woulda thought people would ALREADY be rallying against our interim caretaker.... btw every manager worth a * is in the middle of a season with their team. do you truly want a man who'd skip out on his team midway through the *-end of their season to come up here? He'd be a loyal, principled one wouldn't he.

Lennon taking the reigns was always on the cards if/when Tony left. I really hope it works out for Celtic/Lennon. I only hope that last nights result is the last horror show we see this season.
But whats getting me just now is...what formation/tactics is Neil Lennon going to apply? I mean, the squard that we have, have been working to Tonys system all season. Does Neil have enough time this season to get a winning formula?
Also what does he do with the likes of Fortune who likes to play out on the wing. Will he fit into Lennons plans?

Just heard Johan Mjallby is No 2 !!!!!!!!
