  1. Stephen I totally agree with you. Its this Celtic minded mentality the seems to cloud some supporters vision.

We need someone with huge experience... but right now i dont know who.

  2. a know, but i look what just happend with tony, a don't like ex players going to manage there club, i mean if larsson comes it could destroy him.
the man is a legend at football world wide, but could flop as manager

  3. I agree Stephen. We need someone who has been around the block, someone who has tasted success and has the experience along with it.

I would rather the manager wasn't an ex-player in all honesty.

  4. i think if lennon starts to get something from these players and we win the s/c he will be offered the job on a rolling contract.the board will feel they have been stung by the appointment of the 3 stooges, with the money paid to west brom and the severence pay they would have had to pay for sacking them.lennon and mjallby are the cheap option, if they are appointed i would like to see someone with some experience brought in to assist, like zola done with clarke at west ham.my own choices however would be hodgeson or john hughes.

I think someone foreign with no pressure to be ""celtic minded "" Weve had celtic minded now we need fitba minded, (dr joe, wim jansen ). Somebody who can bring a larrson or a lubo to us . :celt_2:

  5. ive seen him mentioned a few times alan curbishley. id say he is itching to get back in to football and did great at charlton. look at where they went after he left. good manager, would do well in scotland id say.

  6. We need a winner, Someone like WGS who wants to win football first and foremost.

  7. Mark Hughes would be perfect, and he's available on a 'free'.

He's got masses of experience as a player (and in Europe), did an excellent job with a really poor Welsh national team (5-years managing there), lifted Blackburn out of the abyss and was more than adequate at City.

The guy understands people, gets on with his squad, and has vision. He's also British, and understands fully the game here. If we lost Davie Moyes, Hughes would be top of my list as a replacement.

I reckon he'd do you proud. Compare him to Walter Smith. Smith was a flop in England, Sparkey was a success until all the * at City got too much (no manager could succeed there at that time, and Mancini hasn't fared better).

I think he's up for the Ivory Coast job (or another African nation). But please, the Celtic job is a little bit more high profile than that.

Billic is interesting too. I just think with Hughes you are guaranteed to be back in business. Billic looks good on paper, but we don't know how he would adapt to managing here. He's still a risk.

I'm sure Hughes would be very tempted should an offer be made.

    Mon The Hoops

  8. mark hughes will want to be back in the prem managing and he prob will be soon. he wont go to scotland at this stage. west ham could be knocking on his door soon from some reports ive read.

  9. it sounds good he does tick all the right boxes but the so did mowbray.after this disaster of a season we need a safe pair of hands-al be damned if i can name one!

  10. Slaven Bilic, if we cant get him, Wim Jansen or Roy Hodgson

  11. Why Bilic from a lot of posters ,i dont get it ,someone post up his stats as a manger and explain why he is the man to take Celtic on to the next level.

  12. Why would he, though?

Few jobs are as big as Celtic. I would agree if we were talking about the United or Liverpool job, but not West Ham, who are broke and scrapping to survive.

  13. i like willie mcstay but maybe if we brought him in as number two(a bit like mccoist) gain the experience and be a possible manager in the future, lennon falls into the same bracket
for me it has o be either bilic or hughes

  14. On the face of it I like Bilic. He's got a great Croatian squad there playing quite well from what I've picked up. However, he's a bit of a ... character... Completely unproven, fancies himself as a bit of a rock star, loves the media attention. I think I'll pass.

  15. Need a guy that is gonnae sort oot watty n fatty, fed up wae celtic managers being intimidated by him so bring in somebody with bigger reputation and make sure this is the last season they see any silverware, see how quick he retires then :50:

  16. as much as you would like to believe this it aint true. if you look at the squad after may it dosent look to rosey.

  17. id go for someone like gerard houllier someone with loads of experience and with good tactical knowlege

  18. Bet you they just want him because he looks cool :34: lol

I want someone with bags of experience

  19. Thats crossed my mind ,the ciggie hanging out the mouth .:icon_mrgreen:
