Where the banned people go.

Yeh, last time I was in CP, for the dundee united game we were being outsung by the feckin Arabs, there were only 60 or so people singing in the jungle and a handful or so singing in the lower terrace of my jock stein stand... Still I sang, and the looks I got were a bit funny to say the least :56:

The arabs, by the way, were singing Billy Boys... Or was it United Boys? Sure as * sounds like Billy Boys to me, and I didn't see any of the stewards take any of them out of the park.. :47:

Still I am glad that I did, I figure the more people are willing to sing somewhat alone, which there was another guy I noticed a few seats down from me singing Four Leaf Clover, perhaps we can encourage others to sing as well..

Oh well, I came all the way in from the USA to back my team, and I am going to sing, * it!

    Keep the faith :shamrock:

letter originator, jokey reid - saltcoats shamrock

Right people I am trying to re-ignite a campaign for celtic to consider launching a new improved singing section in the jock stein lower. Currently we have a section up in the heavens at 444 and it clearly has never caught on. Already on of our own has started a petition back in october, so I am following this up with the below email and get it sent right into parkhead. Doing something is better than nothing. I agree there will be a lot of skepticsm surrounding our request, but in the current climate, surely the club needs to listen to the fans. Too many people not renewing their books. so copy and paste the letter I fabricated BELOW and send it in to AForbes@celticfc.co.uk - angela forbes her name is. leaving your name obv. and deleting this part of the mail.I was given her email by another contact at celtic. she is due back on wed, so the emails will be there ready for her to read. youll prob get an automated reply but dont worry, she'l get it. you dont ask you dont get lads. forward the mail to evrey single tim you know please. hail hail.. and also if you havent done already sign the siging section petition at this linkHelp generate a better atmosphere at Parkhead Petition . ta and keep the faith ppl. jokey reid 7

    Dear sir/madam,
I would like the club to consider re-launching a new singing section behind the jock stein goals. There is plenty of demand for this to happen. The jungle bhoy’s have done superb with there banners which fly behind the goals. We need to back those banners up by being in there singing and creating an atmosphere to enjoy. Section 444 is too far away and has never really taken off.

I think with the decreasing season ticket sales clearly affecting the club, you should take note of the supporter’s requests. We are life blood of the club and everyone one of us contributes to the finances which keep’s the club operating. One well documented major issue is the lack of match atmosphere at parkhead. We need to consider launching a new campaign where a dedicated section can unite all supporters who want to express themselves by singing non sectarian Celtic songs.

Look at away games, thousands of fans sing at these games and these same fans would thrive on sitting next to each other at paradise. Too many people scattered over the stadium can’t express themselves. The match day experience would be tremendously enhanced if a new improved singing section was created.

All we ask is you considering this for the good of the club and its fans. I know that fans are looking to re-locate at the end of the season in to the jock stein lower regardless of Celtic’s decision so we can generate a better atmosphere. However if you supported us , it would give everyone a much needed lift. Surely in the current climate and the clubs diminishing season ticket sales, we have to be taken seriously.

I am aware that the recession has had an impact also, but don’t forget our neighbours across the M8 are showing a 90% attendance rate at their home matches. My point is these people are our workmates in same jobs, same salary’s, and they are still attending. It’s all about supply and demand, along with appeal. The appeal is not here at parkhead and the atmosphere is a major factor We need to take a fresh approach on improving the match day experience at our great stadium. I look forward to hearing from you.

    Yours sincerely,

Hate to point out the obvious here but a singing section behind the goals isn't possible. There's the posh seats and the Number 7 restaurant in the Jock Stein stand which the club will never, ever want to be less profitable due to being next to a hardcore section and the Lisbon Lions stand gets partly taken up by Scotland's Shame fans when we play them. Either way, a singing/ultras/hardcore section won't be put in either of those places. Great idea but not plausible.

The more people relocate to 111 (And 122 and 445 I guess) the better the chances of the club relenting in their bullying of singing groups. The attitude clubs like Rapid Wien and Eintracht Frankfurt have with their Ultras groups is amazing, maybe one day the Club might go someway towards that. Personally speaking, sitting in 123 I've seen the Green Brigade's influence in 111 grow and grow and hopefully we can get a proper Ultras section in that corner sooner rather than later.

I know the GB wouldn't be up for a singing section because they aren't a singing section, they are an ultra' group, they haven't come this far to be a singing section

Have a wee look at Ultras groups around Europe and then reassess that question fella. :31:

    Ultras Frankfurt

    Ultras Rapid Tornados

And many, many others. They're interested in more than just singing. Flags, displays, pyro, smokes, choreo and die hard supporting. That's what Ultras groups add to atmosphere (Not that I'm saying groups like the Comrades don't look to add more than just singing too). The GB aren't quite there yet but they don't want to give up what they've created so far to be put in a Club sponsored "singing section" where the Club takes the credit for the atmosphere.

Having stood in the standing/ultras section at an Eintracht Frankfurt game a few weeks back I've got to say if we can ever get anything near that out of the groups at Celtic Park I'll be happy. :50:

Just signed the petition too , The atmosphere is pathetic , We are constantly out sung by a few hundred in the away support , To be honest the atmosphere has been going downhill for the last 7 or 8 years .

they should give a full section to a group of die hards and get the * stewards away from them and let the fans control theyr own crowd ! a trouble makers gonna listen to his fellow diehards any day of the week rather than some * wee hun runt steward.
