I would love to see it there, as other have said though, there's nothing to stop the fans bringing a saltire.

I took one to Seville and hung it from my hotel balcony :50:

Going by this logic, that NOTHING else can be discussed on this forum until Sunday, you must be having a hard time at work/school/college/uni at the moment if all you can think about is the result on Sunday.

    An example,

Boss - "Can you take a look at that report from accounts by Thursday?"

You - "NOOOOOO...I can't have anything on my mind till the game on Sunday"

    Boss - "Your Sacked"

You - "As long as Rasmussen at least comes on at some point"

    :icon_mrgreen:

As for the flags, I wish we had as many Saltires flying as Irish flags, but it's never going to happen because for some reason some of our support identify with a country the vast majority of them have probably not even been to

A couple of my Irish pals say the same thing and how they would never fly the Scottish flag because it would make them feel like dafties. If your an Irish celtic fan I say fly the Irish flag, go for it and all the best. But if your Scottish and doing that, well, it just seems a little weird to me excluding the country of your birth over another countries flag.

That's your divine right to choose to be all patriotic if that's what you wish, it's called freedom of choice. I therefore choose to support Celtic FC and no one else apart from a soft spot for Liverpool I've had since I was younger. I don't, won't and never will subscribe to our international set-up, it just does not interest me in the slightest. Good luck with your choice mate. :shamrock:

Probably find very few people actually take a flag to the match with them and only buy them outside but the people outside the stadium dont sell them.

Why? Cos they wouldnt sell enough

actually the saltire originally was a really light blue. The blue is meant to represent the sky and the while clouds. Its meant to come from a legend of an early Scottish Gaelic king called Angus over 1000 years ago seeing a cross shape of clouds in the sky before going into a victorious battle against the English. So the blue should be a very light blue like a clear sky.

Got to say too regarding Irish flags that I find the tricolour a pretty ugly one. Its not an ancient flag and only dates to the 20th century. The Irish had a really nice ancient flag that was a kind of deep green with a golden harp on it.

ROI flag wasnt supposed to be pretty, it was simply to represent the unity of Catholics and protestants in Ireland, relating to Theobald Wolfe Tone and Bold Robert Emmet

On a side note, shouldn't people be more mature than to bicker about this? I don't get mad when i see a union jack here in Canada, although, they are few and far between...

The tricolour was actually gifted to Meagher of the sword by Lamartine, the president of the french republic back in the 1800's

And its beautiful,in look and sentiment!

Yeah its the same as the provincial flag of Leinster. The original Irish flag was a blue background with the harp. Blue is still the Irish state colour. All carpet in courthouses/ the dail etc are blue because of this. Also our first soccer jersey was blue i think. Doubt there will be no blue flags flying in a quater of ibrox this friday tho :celt_2:
