Who's a better footballer - Aiden McGeady or Steven Davis?

is this a celtic forum???? who would fetch the biggest fee if they where wanted down south its a no brainer

 

TBH if Aiden could use the skills he has in a right way, he'd be better, but atm Davis is playing better. And unlike the Huns, who even think Boyd is better than Larsson, I am objective enough to admit, when one of their players is better than one of ours.

 

Davis has nothing on mcgeady, simple as.

 

I think the question got put around due to Walter smith going on the offensive as soon as he heard that Robbie Keane had signed on loan , by declaring Steven Davis as the best player in the SPL..

 

Walter smith needs to take his head outa davis's * and face up to reality.

Alright so far weve been *, but truth is, we have a better side. Rangers have just been performing better.

Steve Davis is the better player imo. I never wanted Rangers to sign him because I knew he would do the business for them.

 

Davis without any shadow of a doubt, nybody that said McGeady needs a good look at themself and also need to read the title .

 

In terms of ability , McGeady * all over Davis.

Davis is the best player in the Rangers squad by a country mile and on this form a far more effective player than Aiden.

Two completely different types of player though. Davis is in great form at the moment but if I could have one at Celtic it would always be McGeady.

 

davis is better as the term footballer isn't normally associated with flair players.

footballer to me are players that can read a game better, usually the type that turn into good managers. the aren't as talened, so use their brain to maxamise their game.

 

another way of comparing the two is by talking of boxing styles. so for the two i would class them as:

davis - boxer
mcgeady - brawler

boxer to me is similair to what i class as a footballer. a guy that knows how to use the ring and a guy that knows how to use the pitch.

 

there's nothing wrong with debating football.

i think it's pathetic when fans put their own bias before an honest opinion of the game.

 

I believe Aiden is the better player.....Fast feet,skillful,entertaining and beats people with ease......off his game at the moment and yes! he needs to work on the end product..passing,crossing and goals but he's just got that bit of extra flair and ability.

Davis is having a great season, one which will see him claim the SPL Player of the Year award even if Celtic win the league!

 

Hasnt this been proven in Europe by Mcgeady skinning the best and hmm.. Davis, 4-1 4-1 etc..

 

mcgeady's a ball player, davis is a footballer.

 

McGeady, Davis is a good player for Rangers though but McGeady is better than him.

You get Rangers fans who say the same about Davis as people here are saying about McGeady, my cousin always moans about Davis corners and crossing failing to beat the first man and that he doesnt score enough. So they've both got the same problems. Davis is in the better form out the two the now though but McGeady was the better in the first half of the season from the start to that last game against Rangers he's not kicked a ball since then though.

McGeady at his best can look great against anyone or any team. Davis at his best is just a good performer at SPL level I think.
