I don't trust a 4 man defense. We need to play their way this time, the CB-s stay in our box, where they won't get caught behind. A sweeper would help with our counterattacks. The Huns won't expect this kind of Celtic.

Do you realise a sweeper usually plays behind the 2 cb's.

So you will have 2 cb's sitting in our box,a sweeper behind them, presumably on the goal line, and unless our sweeper is fitted with a jet engine,i dont think he will be much use for counter attacks.

this is the type of game defenders, only come out when its a 60-40 for the challenge, nothing less and if they go out its with speed and let them know they are there

He will be of big use-he'll punt the ball to our attacking players.

SO he will lump high balls forward.........will the huns defense be blinded by the midday sun and not be able to win headers against our forwards ?

Not 3-5-2 in this game without trial, plus we want width. It is so very needed in this game.

I think our defence should start from the front. We are going to see the flat four, but we need tracking back and i think someone should do a job on davis early on. Let him know he's in a game.

He would aim more towards McGeady and McGinn, so that they can start their mazy runs. And I heard Bougherra is out, so even headers might work sometimes.

So our sweeper would be acting as a bit of a playmaker ?

First thing I'd do is to make sure Kris Boyd gets a good whack early on...let him know hes not playing against schoolboy defenders.

Yeah, it's what Caldwell has been doing a lot in the 4 man defense, but his escapades sometimes cost us. I'd play someone who seems calmer than him, but also has a good pass. Actually, Caldwell wouldn't be a total disaster in a 5 man defense, because now two other men are guarding the back when he goes forward and plays long passes, not just one, like in the usual set up. Still, I'd rather see ZZ as the sweeper.

You would need a world class passer to try and play that role...i mean you would need the worlds best passer.

Ball would get lumped upfield, they would get possesion back, our defense would be sitting deep...this would happen the whole match.

We need to play 4-1-4-1 unfortunately.. They are scoring for fun so we need to suck the life out of them then beat them at their own game. Don't get me wrong i'm all for playing sexy football but whats the use if we're 2nd in the league. Get the job done, get confidence back up and then worry about style!

    -----Hinkel - Loovens - Caldwell - Fox

    ---------------N'guemo

    McGeady - Robson - Crosas - Zhi

    ---------------Samaras

A goalkeeper and 10 outfielders would be a better idea.

I was meant to delete mcginn, couldn't decide between him and zhi and left him in by accident. :56:

Though maybe we can sneak him on and no one will notice
