Its a bit of a step up for McGowan to come in from the cold tonight though, so I wouldnt be too hard on the guy.

If you are going to bring youngsters like Carey to a game like this you might as well play them. McGinn picked up a knock and came off. Makes sense.

what do u mean simulated a foul? the boy stamped on his foot, touch NOTHING of the ball, its a clear foul, he went down easily, but theres a diffrence between tht and diving, now im not saying it was a pen cause it would be harsh, but in the laws of the game it was a foul, where as mcmanus never touched there striker n he went down, thts a dive.

does mowbray actually want to win? i do like the younger players to get a chance but we are pushing to go level with mcdonald on the bench i thought that would be the obvious choice?

Hendo, your not getting it mate. When the guy stamped on his foot, it never caused Fortune to go down. But when Fortune realises he's going nowhere he then decides to go down. Thats why he's saying its simulating a foul.

No-one is disputing the other persons dive.

Because the foul had no impact on him going to ground, I'm not saying that he wasn't clipped, but when he decided to go down, there was no contact at that moment. The clip of heels had no bearing on him falling to ground.
It may not have been as blatant as the Rapid boys, but a dive nonetheless.

BTW, what would you be calling someone who done exactly the same thing against us?

I have to * in on this conversation a wee bit :50:

I agree with Craigy up to a certain point and i hear what you're saying too.

The guy stamped on Fortunés foot, aye. But then Fortuné took another step before jumping and grabbing his ankle.. is what Craigy is pointing out.

But after i saw the replay of the incident i thought back to a time playing football and someone doing something similar to myself. What i think is a plausible explanation for the theatrics is that he didn't feel any pain until he put pressure back on that foot - the guy stamped and crunched his foot while he was in mid run - that was the next foot to leave the ground seconds after being crunched, it comes back down and he puts his pressure on it, feels the pain of the foul then goes down trying to make the most of a situation.

So it technically is a dive, but it was technically also a foul if the 23rd official on the side had noticed it.
