If 5 went in January who would you sell?

This is a speculation thread but I'd be interested to know what people think. If Celtic could get 5 players sold in January - 2 first team players and 3 squad players - who would you like to see us move out?

I would probably have to sell....

2 first team players - Gary Caldwell and Shaun Maloney

3 squad players - Stephen McManus, Mark Wilson and Koki Mizuno

I know there are worse players we could punt like Killen, Flood etc but we'd get next to no money for them so I've tried to pick players we could live without AND get some money for. That's my logic anyway.

Who would you sell? 2 first team regulars and 3 squad players....shoot!

 

First teamers - Caldwell and barring a miraculous turnaround, Fortune
Squad members - Naylor, Wilson and Robson - get decent moey for them all and none are needed. We've got Fox and Misun at LB, Caddis and Hinkel at RB and more CMs than you can shake a stick at

 

Can see where you're coming from mate but up to this point Misun is completely untried and untested at left back so we have no idea if he would be able to cope at first team level or not. Selling both Wilson AND Naylor would leave us a bit exposed at the left back position. Not sure I'd be comfortable with that. Knowing our luck, if we sold both Wilson and Naylor, Fox would get injured in the very next game!

 

Misun's injured and will be for a while apparently, so we need a bit of depth on the outside in defense.

 

First Teamers: Caldwell and Scott Brown
Squad: McManus, Flood and Naylor.

I think Ki Sung-Yong will be a hit and we could get a good few quid for Broon, I dont have to explain why I said the chuckle brothers and I put Flood and Naylor up because there have grumblings that they want to leave, so give them their wish.

 

Fox, McDonald, McManus, Crosas, Fortune

Easiest question on the season.

 

Gary Caldwell, Stephen McManus, Willo Flood, Koki Mizuno, Mark Wilson.

+ Ben Hutchinson, Simon Ferry, Mark Brown, Lee Naylor, Cillian Sheridan, Paul Caddis, Chris Killen.

I would keep Fortuné, Maloney, McDonald, Crosas and Fox for sure. And wouldn't have any problem with Scott Brown staying neither.

Hinkel has been one of our best players this season

Caldwell and McDonald for the first teamers (only if we got a new CB and CF in to replace them though)

McManus, Wilson and Mizuno from the squad for me.

Maloney, Mick ,Heid ,McDonald ,Brown

 

Brown, Flood, Forune, McManus, Mizuno.

Suprised to see maloney mentioned a few times

brown hinkel caldwell mcmanus naylor koki flood , hinkel cause we will get money for him although he has been good attacking wise i think we need better defensive fullbacks, brown hasnt been missed niether has mcmanus.

Winning the league is of the upmost priority, to do that we need goals, so for that reason alone there is no way i'd want McDonald to leave unless it was for silly money.

First-team;

Scott Brown - Most overrated player in our history, we might be able to mug someone that has swallowed the hype.
Barry Robson - Decent enough player, however, we have plenty of midfield options, move him on while he still has some resale value.

Squad;

Mizuno - So much competition for places on the flanks, Koki obviously hasn't done enough in training to convince Mowbray that he's even 4th choice.
Wilson - Decent enough player, but constantly injured. Quite a few years left on his contract so might command a reasonable fee, leaving might convince Paul Caddis to stay.
Stephen McManus - A trier, but not of the level we're looking for, should get a few quid for him.

I'd also add

Naylor - Out of contract in summer, see if we can get some return and free up his wages. On the condition that we can get left back cover for Fox.
Chris Killen - Not good enough IMO, out of contract in the summer?
Mark Brown - Not bothered about a fee, get him off the wage bill
Paul McGowan - Not good enough, never likely to be
Ben Hutchinson - Can't cut it at Swindon, enough said

naylor, has no ability at a shot or a telling pass
