    I am. He told me to leave and sing my songs elsewhere, so I suggested somewhere where his dislike of rebel songs would be acceptable.

    I'd get banned for that ffs? What happened to open to all? Or do you just say that when it suits?

    Exactly, so nobody has the right to tell people NOT to sing rebel songs.

    No-one has the right to tell those that sing rebel songs not to follow Celtic, that's different than saying they shouldn't sing the songs.

    Nah, you seem to have a * of an attitude towards anyone who doesn't support the Republican cause.

    Rebel songs are born out of the opression of Irish people by British invaders. Those who say that we shouldn't sing rebel songs because we are open to all, well these songs are protesting against a political/militant force which is NOT open to all.

    Celtic as a football club has distance themselves from this but the fans wish to continue this on and the Club not the fans will get hammered for it.

    as this has been a public vote were one can see who voted yes or no - it is interesting that all the moderators voted no.

    bar one who voted unsure.

    a bit onesided in that respect.
    everyone is entitled to their own opinion though.

    let the people sing

    hi now you cant be saying stuff like that just because you sing rebel songs doesnt mean you are not a decent person

    what do rebel songs have to do with celtic well as far as i can remember these songs have always been sung

    i once seen a politican on the tv talking about bombfires and should they be stopped he said " its hard to stop people from doing stuff that we have all been doing for years, we did them from when we were children and you expect me to stand here and say no no now its wrong to do it"

    "Football without fans is nothing". It is the fans that make us what we are, not John Reid and his west brit political agenda.

    As someone who has been brought up not hearing them. Has no connection to the Catholic faith or republican orginisations, or Ireland, I'm not a fan of listening to them at games. I would rather sing about the team, or an individual player(past or present), than have people singing up the ra, or adding seinn fein or IRA to the Fields of Athenrye.

    By all means go to the pubs before and after the games, where like minded people will be and sing to your hearts content. One of the old firm will get points docked for singing, and I know who Gordon Smith would rather take the points from. It could be that a rebel song gets us docked 3 points, and it costs us the league.....if it did happen would people still sing them??
