Agreed with most of your comments although I think Mowbray is getting the team playing much better football and creating more chances. The Board need to see this give him the 2 quality center Backs he needs and if poss a proven striker. You are right about last year lets hope they dont make the same mistake twice.

Use your noddles. Its Boxing day, a huge chunk are spending time with their families. There is a recession and on top of that people have shelled out money for Christmas. The weather is horrible and on top of that we had a disappointing result last week. You should know by now we don't get massive numbers for SPL home games vs dud teams.

Weather is not a valid excuse imo unless of course you cannot get to the game due to weather. But if your excuse is 'I'm not going because it's too cold/wet etc then that is not valid.

However I agree on all your other points. People have more important things to worry about at this time of year namely their family. I could not go today but that is because I was feeling...err rough :52:

Ive had a season ticket for 9 or 10 years and the attendances are low every winter and people say the same thing every winter :56:the attendances are lower everywhere this season and last season probably just the carryon with the banks and all that. None of them that sit in the leather seats seem to go anymore, bet they'll be back next week though

For Boxing Day in the worst weather for years in the middle of a recession, it could be worse. Fairly normal trend for the winter matches, really.

I would be willing to bet that 36,000 is higher than our average attendance in virtually every season of our history bar the post fergus period. Since Fergus, (Rangers games aside)fans have flocked consistently in numbers never previously witnessed to see Celtic play. We have been treated to delights such as di canio, cadete, Viduka, lambert, Henrik, Sutton, hartson, Naka during that time. The board need to think about these facts very seriously over the next few months. There is a sense of apathy at the moment. Investment in some real quality in january may be the only way to convince around 20,000 of our season ticket holders to renew. Losing that revenue would have drastic consequences.

I think we still have more than 40,000 season ticket holders at Celtic Park, therefore it means that people who have already paid for their seat couldn't even be bothered to turn up, why ?

Personally speaking I believe a great many believe they have been short changed by our directors(and their promises of investment in the team). Let's hope they take heed of this fact an invest during January to ensure that the SPL title is delivered at the end of the season, if not the season ticket numbers will erode even further.

Well said mate ,i do believe a lot of fans have problems with money etc and they cant afford to get to games like they did before ,but a drop of 20,000 is a helluva drop ,yes the money is paid up front and Celtic have that money but what happens at the end of this season if those 20,000 decide not to renew ,Celtic would be in dire straits if this happened .

I do believe that its done to what the fans are watching on the park also and we dont have the big names like Shop mentioned before and i agree this has to be looked at ,it doesnt need to be 10 million pound players but there is quality out there at lower prices but wages seem to be a killer for Celtic aswell so there is a bit of a catch 22 situation going on here but the men upstairs need to think about this pretty fast or they will get caught out by the time the summer arrives.

ive had a season ticket since hampden, for the last 3 years every april i have been unsure whether to renew my ticket, obviously i did because im still going.
i was there yesterday but i am honestly at the point where i wouldnt bother me if i go or not. now this hurts me as im a tim and never thought the day would come when the passion wasnt there.
before you start pelting me be honest with yourself, are celtic interesting, is the spl entertaining, * was the euro league entertaining.
passion works both ways and i feel ,my opinion only, that celtic plc have no passion and its now solely a business(which does have benefits)

ive followed celtic through thick and thin since i started getting taken to games in 77,
give me back the reasons to go celtic/
this is just an honest opinion from me,i expect others to disagree but that is there opinion.
all the best and merry christmas to all the bhoys and ghirls

Whether you have or don't have a season ticket really doesn't matter, whether you go to every match or miss a few doesn't really matter either, it comes down to what's in your heart, is it Celtic or not Celtic ?

Our board of directors need to learn the lesson that selling season tickets or match day tickets is not automatic for all Celtic supporters, different circumstances dictate whether fans can afford to be there or not, as directors it's their duty to tempt the fans to come along with a team worthy of calling themselves Celtic FC.

My concern is that the skill level of players currently wearing the Hoops is not doing enough to excite the Celtic supporters, too many times our directors have opted for the cheap option, we need players who perform consistently and excite the support.

Boxing day 7 years ago against the mighty Livingston , the place was full to the brim. Yesterday was a joke , was embarrassing watching the highlights on SSN and the place was empty.
