Officially given as 41,000 today, has been less than 50,000 for a few other matches this season. Have they finally stopped counting the thousands of season ticket holders that can't be arsed turning up?

The apathy amongst the support has been growing for a while now. I was not surprised in the slightest at today's attendance and I don't blame anyone who did not show up.

Its the same across the city

Poor investment in the team = * european performance = drop in attendances

Financial prudence will get you a good balance sheet, but it will hit your teams performances and create apathy from fans.

    Right or wrong, its fact

1)newcastle have the 4th highest attendance in england this season and i believe it is about 43000 (correct me if its wrong)

    2) we were playing against possibly the team which is getting relegated

    3) it is the end of the month before xmas, peolple have been paid and with money scarce attendances drop for obvious reasons.

    4) there has been little investment in the team recently

    5) Our big money flair player has showed not 1 bit of flair

    6) The team have not been playing as part of a team, showed any consitency, or entertained the fans since larsson left!!

the bottom line is their not true celtic fans, maybe a small minority have a good reason for not turning up.if it was back to the auld days and the majority didnt buy a season ticket they,d be the ones that wouldnt appear

And I am assuming your not one of those who has been laid off or taken a pay cut, I am sure that 90% of the people who were not there had a good reason, think about it after all the money they have pumped into the club all these years, every ticket, every t shirt, every jersey, what have they got to show for it now, a lousy team and mountains of debt, I am not saying people should only go if the team is good but realistically if your budget is tight you want to get your moneys worth

Don't forget about those who give up their time around the world to go online and watch the game. Even if it's just live text. For my first year being a Celtic fan I literally just sat at the computer for 2 hours and watched live text being updated every couple of minutes. Should have seen me in the library when JVoH nodded in the winner against Gers in the 93rd. But yeah, I wake up every Saturday or Sunday morning (both hung over mornings) at around 7 at Uni and watch every game. I know the crowd is what gets the players going, but there's not much I can do. I try my best.

And how are they not true supporters ? Sorry but that is rubbish. So with your logic, I guess every supporter who does not go to the games is not a true supporter ?

it really does my head in when people say wait til the next old firm game i bet all the fans missing will be there.so what about the same fans who only sing on european nights the bottom line is we have a lot of games coming up and christmas is close so people will pick and chose their games and st mirren has less appeal as say aberdeen next week

quite a narrow minded guy you are,

my old man was from glasgow went to nearly every game till he moved to aberdeen had kids and took me to as much games as he could, i left school and got work in glasgow and was there for 6 years each year till last i had a season ticket till my new contract at work had me working a saturday

my dad became ill and moved back to aberdeen but still went down as offten i could but was struggling money wise. got married and had kids, got back to going few times a year see the cost of getting a ticket the cost of petrol and having to pay a hotel can be quite expensive, why should i deprive my wife and kids of that money just for me to see celtic win, loose or draw

i get a picture of you with the shellsuit on you have all the tops you prob stay with your mum paying no rent you prob go out to the park and get drunk a lot, you go home to your bedroom with the matching celtic wall coverings and your celtic duvet on must be great * the burds you must be *, i can see that in your life that nobody will ever be important to you apart from celtic, a game of football, that is pretty sad i reckon

Got to agree m8 but as some1 said b4 if people have been laid off or had to take a pay cut then this time of year must be hard for them.

I don't think there is any need for the personal attack. We should be civil to one another. Attack the post if you wish but not the poster. It only causes acrimony and strife from my experience.

I understand fully where you are coming from because we are all feeling the pinch just now, but I just think we need solidarity and unity amongst our support just now, as the schisms and divisions just serve to split us.

    Unity is Strength :hi5:
