Are you saying that blatant bad tackles are acceptable?

His other major flaw is his distribution. It's shocking.

I couldn't give a * about Andy Driver mate or any other hun or wee hun, * em. It was a bad tackle and Mick got punnished accordingly let that be the end of it, no need for threads like this calling for him to be flung out the club for it, thats just crazy. It is not like him to fly in as late as that but it sums up the real frustration building at the club. The same frustration that McMannus showed by the late tackle is shown too in the posts in this thread.

McManus often lunges into tackles imo.

good post. It was a classic professional trip foul where you put your legs in front of the players running foot. It was not into Driver's legs like a real evil leg breaker type of tackle. It was just the sort that makes the player trip. It was a sending off mainly because of the position on the pitch. A similar trip in the opposition half would never have got more than a yelow.

Never heard any complaints when Hartely blatently studded 'Bazza' in his bad ankle during a crucial 3 in a row OF game. Up to that point 'Bazza' had been running rings around Zico and Robson and it changed the game in our favour. It was much more of an actual assualt than Mick who really just tripped the last man.

I think everyone is jumping on the dramatic bandwagon.

    Bad Tackle? YES
    Professional foul? YES
    Warrant a red card? YES
    Did use two feet? No
Did he leave his feet in the tackle? No
Did he tackle above his shin guard? No
    Was Driver injured? No

Is he being made a scapegoat after a defeat? YES

If Neil Lennon sledged a Hearts player, he'd be a hero!

Haalands retirement due to injury was not the leg that Keane tackled.

That may be true but he pretty much never returned to full fitness and barely played another comeptitive game after that disgusting assault by Keane. Safe to say a career ender in my book, what a *.

Erm, on topic though I kind of sympathised with McManus in that he really had to somehow foul Driver. Unfortunately he's obviously not familiar with a "good" or a "smart" foul, and instead of tugging his shirt or whatever just went clean through the guy. Idiot! Almost got away with a yella tho

He actually had a good game for us though, perhaps a solid 7 before the incident, Caldwell as well was solid. Won't stop people looking for a scapegoat though...

He never returned to full fitness because of the OTHER LEG so no its not safe to say that it was a career ender.

lads you would all do the same, I know I would.

you take one for the team, its always been that way in football, heck they done it to us last night too with skippy when he was through. but lucky enough one of their defenders got round just in time or it woulda been a last man and a straight red.

Well if you think it was some sort of co-incidence then so be it, I'm slightly more cynical...

What are you trying to make out. The physical impact on one knee had an emotional impact on the other? :56:

Haaland thinks the same as you but I'd like to see the medical term for a tackle on one knee causing the other not to respond to surgery and treatment

Stephen McManus should be totally ashamed of himself. He should be ashamed to call himself a Professional and a Celtic player. He has never been good enough to wear the Hoops never mind being the team Captain. He got skinned and he brought the player down. Any Player who deliberately hacks another player should have the book thrown at them. It was assault, simple as that. He should be shown the door, as should most of the team cos they arent Celtic class enough, they put in a mediocre shift and collect big wages week in week out. Im glad that more and more fans are starting to realise that 80 percent of the team are not good enough, Mogga knows this only to well. Its not the Managers or the Players fault, its the Boards fault, they continue to run Celtic as a safe Football Business and wont take risks by spending. McManus should be punted with most of the team IMO. Give the Manager what he needs and he will work wonders.

    Regards
    Scott
