Muniain just got a 10.0 performance, 5 first half goals against Dunfermline (9th SPL) in a 6 -0 rout (all goals scored in the 1st half!)

Took an awful slap in the 60th minute at which point I subbed him, no injury report but seems to take knocks in matches

 

Lads, I need tactical advice. My 4-4-2 classic isn't working properly. I have had so much luck so far, it's unbelievable.

I'm playing with two wingers with attacking duties only, so no tracking back. I have one ball winning midfielder and one deep playmaker. I'm dominant on flanks, but my midfield is the problem. My play is supposed to be fluid (yeah, right), but I can't connect many passes together and I usually score from crosses and long balls.

So I need new formation and new tactical approach.

 

He seems like a cracking player, although, I took him on loan and ended up terminating it after he got injured. I agree he takes little knocks in games.

 

With Celtic I play 4-2-1-3 and it works well, I pick the 4-5-1 formation from the list then swap it into that, I play

I beat the huns 5-0, won 4-1 away to Aston Villa, 4-2 at home to Aston Villla, 3-0 at home to AC Milan and drew 2-2 away to AC Milan playing like that. Mostly with Owen just scoring goals for fun early though :icon_mrgreen:

Yeah ive patched it, first time this has happend to me, jus gonna play this season and hopefully its sorts itself out for next season

 

I finished third in my fifth season. Lost second spot on the final day of the season.

Signed Emanuelson on a free, Turner and Vaughan for the new season, lost out on Rakitic and Akinfeev. Rakitic would've been a very good replacement for Van Der Vaart . Vaughan was very good on loan, so I signed him for 3.7m. Funny thing is that a season before I got him on loan, I tried to sign him, but Everton wanted like 12m for him.

For some reason the chairman gave the club 14m to cover running costs. I was in red numbers, but when he gave the money I was already given the prize money for finishing third so I was in a good position. It said it was a loan, but I don't have to pay it back yet, if at all. I also got new kit sponsorhips for a total of 7m, which is 3m than the previous deal.

Im using 4-4-2 aswell , iv been quite successful with it so far.
2 wingers on attack duty , Maloney on the left has been set to cut inside and has scored 19 goals and 22 assists and its only february.
One midfielder set to deep lying playmaker (support) and the other midfielder is just set on midfield support duty.
The 2 CB's set on defend only , with the fullbacks set on automatic.
One striker set as deep lying forward and the other advanced forward.

Opposition Instructions have also played a big part too , they are very important.
I'v done well with this , top of the league by 23 points losing 1 game and drawing 1 game.

 

Go to any torrent engine and do a search, its unbelievably easy to get a copy of this game

Mininova is good, check any torrent for feedback. Every engine has its fair share of fakes but feedback from other users is the key

 

Ive discovered why I was havin no luck with my game, I didnt realise you could switch the tactics wizard off and use the classis settings. Its sliders for me from now on then and ill update my Falkirk game after ive got back up the table.

 

Really? I was never a fan of the sliders although I do override tempo/wide/ defensive line when my backroom team suggest that i do

I think the first game/few season is more about learning about the interface of the game. No doubt that there are settings that I havent twigged yet

 

No I think they are so much better. Much easier to tweak your team to play EXACTLY the way you want them to, thats the way I did it with Sunderland in '09 and it only got better because I brought in players to suit my tactics.

 

I agree that there's more control of how the team plays but there is very few things i need to tweak from what I can setup from the basic mode. I dunno what style you play but I can guess that its long shots that are your problem?

 

They were with the tactics wizard but now ive just made the same tactic that I used with my Sunderland side in '09 and ive climbed from 8th to 4th in the table with games in hand over Rangers/Hibs/Celtic. I may start a new EPL game no ive got this * down, but not Sunderland as theyre rich now and success is kind of a ''when'' not ''if''. I may start with Stoke actually, or Burnley.

 

Hate the sliders, don't make particular sense to me.

Much easier and more accurate to say, Shaun Maloney play as an inside forward, or Di Maria play as a traditional winger, Balde a limited defender, Lennon a ball-winning midfielder, etc etc Makes much more sense to me

The sliders are pointless now cos there is a way in the tactics screen that if you click on the type of player you want them to play as it highlights the nessesary attributes for you so you can make a call on what type of player you're dealing with if you can't tell just by looking at the stats and positional ratings of the player...
