I decided not to sell any first-teamers straight away, 'cos I wanted to keep a bit of continuity.

Let a few of the reserve players go, and only brought in Smiljanic and Kone. Sammy is off to Bordeaux in January, even though the coaches said I should keep him (I obviously know better :icon_mrgreen:).

I'm gonna ship out Killen in January too, and thinking of bringing Benjani in. Some good stats for a 'back-to-goal' target man I think.

Awww what man i've got Madrid Chelsea and levski in my group!! Looks like i'll possibly take 6 from levski as i pumped them 6-0 in pre season but I'll get nadda from the others.. Hopefully i can nab 2 draws 6 points from levski and hopefully Madrid/Chelsea drop points.

I beat Sparta Prague and Panathinaikos (4-1 and 3-1 respectively over two legs).

I got a group with Barca and Juve in it :(

Managed to pick up Plasmati from Catania for £1.5m, needed some height, he's 6"6' :D

Anyone able to devise a tactic, that puts McGeady as the AMC, his rated best position?

I have him on the right mid in my 4-4-2

I hate natural AMC's, i think they are lazy, glory hunting midfielders!

I've started a new game already, nothing to do with results, won both legs handy against Sparta Prague and Sandro was exactly how I expected. Just trying to get used to the new controls etc

Interestingly that the game used the previous data to create the new game, i.e. same regens etc, shortlists etc, the creation time was much reduced.

Once again, I went in for Appiah & Andrade, got Appiah but you cant compete with Porto for him.

    Sold:

    Wilson - €1M
    Killen - €1M
    Naylor - €1M
    Grant - €35k + 50%
    Conroy - €20k + 50%

    Looking for quality CB's....

Ignashevich is on my radar but I dunno if I can get him, gonna use the media to poach him

    EDIT

Would you pay €12M + €24k p/w for Miranda of Sao Paulo?

Aye in the CB market myself but only got about 2 mill to spend max. I see Skjelbred (not a CB obv.!) can be had for a mere 1.9 million quid. Couldn't quite afford him but he's on my radar.

That Miranda looks decent, 12m seems a bit steep though. Also looks the kind of CB who is good, solid, but never really CL quality although I could be wrong. Check out Subotic or Hummels of Dortmund Dempsey :icon_mrgreen: They are the same value as Ignashevich and in Subotics case on merely 10k a week so could feasibly be signed.. Not sure what Celtics like though...

P.s. I noticed Michael Laudrups son kicking around, can be signed for 1 million and has decent-ish stats for a young-un. I couldn't afford the 1 mill, but could be worth a punt.

The one guy I have signed who is young, creative, and can operate AMRLC is a guy called Badelj from Croatia. Stats not yet perfect, but can't complain for 1 million quid. Creativity 16, Passing 15, Flair 16, First Touch 17 and Technique 17 so some reeeeally good technical stats for a 20 year old for that money. Not the most physical but I'm intending on anchoring the midfield with 2 ball winning grafters if possible.

*edit* just realised I haven't really helped you much with CB's but there you are lol

If I *had* to play an AMC then I would either play a 4-2-3-1 or a 4-4-1-1. Seems a bit of a waste though with both Fortune and McDonald looking like they can rip up the SPL. Maybe a 4-4-2 diamond? Although that kind of ruins Maloney...

Signed Miranda, was in a bidding war with Shakhtar :31:

Did a good scouting job on him, two things that swayed me was that he's noted for consistency and his personality and he'll fit right in.

The crucial thing for me is that he's not dependent on one foot, although weak on his left its better than him being right only which is a huge handicap on a player

Whilst he wont improve, I reckon I have a solid CB for the next 8 years if need be

If you go diamond, there isnt much point in keeping Brown, flood, zhi etc

Hmm... Not sure about that one, mate. Hard to get one of those these days, but with proper transfer budget in first transfer window you can sort something out. Also, which tactics do you use? And who's your 'engine' in midfield?

Aye didn't think diamond would be appropriate - you really want to be keeping those guys in FM anyway? :icon_mrgreen: 4-2-3-1 would be my first choice
