It's not a question of celtic fans hating Israelis. It's about them having solidarity with Palestinians who have been ethnically cleansed, evicted from their land, condemned to a life as refugees in their own country, and living under occupation.
I am sure a number of celtic fans will take the opportunity to peacefully highlight this terrible situation when we play against your team. You describe yourself as a left wing club so I'm sure you will understand this and not take it personally. Perhaps you will join us in condeming the actions of the Israeli government and call for an end to the occupation?
Take care

It's a football match, not a political rally.

The conflict in the Middle East is not as simplistic as you are suggesting and indeed wrongs have been committed by all sides.

We should be going there to support our team, that is all, anyone that goes to Israel will be guests in that country and should act accordingly.

I always support celtic.
It is a common myth that its two equal sides.
There is politics in everything and that will be clear to most celtic fans and indeed our friend from Israel who describes his team as left wing.
The tie will possibly encourage people to find out more about the occupation of palestine, the conditions Palestinians are living in, and the Apartheid wall that separates Palestinian families from schools, hospitals, their farmland, work places and each other.
I hope you take the opportunity to find out more about what's going on.
Up the hoops

This is not what the Celtic fans are about ,your in a minority group of supporters who for some reason have brought all this political stuff into parkhead ,its football pal ,nothing else spend your money on a train fare to London and voice your opinions at Downing Street ,fed up hearing all this about Celtic fans ,we are not all like you .im sure the players and the management show an interest ie do the players talk to the opposition like ,thats some craic going on in Israel ,dont think so ,,,dont bother quoting me ,cos i wont be answering to it ,nuff said ,,enjoy the football game.

Exactly. Keep the politics out of football. Don't wreck the good name of Celtic football club in some wreckless, pointless act of political 'unity'. Just go there to support the team FFS! :31:

You can't blame Israel for everything, the situation would get resolved quicker if the Palestinian territories wasn't run by terrorists. Just stay out of the politics while in Tel Aviv, just enjoy the game and respect the Israeli fans. Have fun! Enjoy the football!

It happens to be a subject I'm very interested in and have did a fair bit of reading on the history of the conflict, not just the most recent developments but since before the 1967 war.

But we are going to Israel to play a football match, not all Celtic fans will have the same political beliefs as you therefore to express your politics at the football is doing a disservice to others - you would be using Celtic to get your own point across. The football should be a place where we can all come together to support our team, regardless of our political beliefs.

Leave the politics at home, go to the game, have fun and support the bhoys.

7bhoy - I'd read the constitution of Hamas and Fatah before stating there are no terrorists in <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:smarttags" />Palestine.
