Proud Of The Team

  1. Hey All,

Dunno about you guys but even though we lost i was well impressed and proud of the team after their performance last night.

We were up against one of the best teams in the world and i would say we were the better team up until that flukey free kick just before half time.

We got a bit of a pounding at the start of the second half but then settled in, then even after caldwell own goal the team still looked eager and got in about Arsenal.

What could we do? 2 flukey goals, on another night they might not have went in or could have been 2 flukey goals that we scored.

If we do go out, play like we did in the first half in the Europa League i reckon well go far :50:

  2. our final ball was bad last night to many of our SUPERSTARS all went missing. I think we could/ should have done a lot better. Aye Arsenal are a great team but they never really got going. Brown- still lacking fitness / Donati- * / McGeady- never knew he was on the pitch same as Maloney and Samaras just awful. This poor midfeild was always going to take its toll on our defend which I think done well.

Just felt we could have done better

  3. Seriously?

I thought McGeady played great last night

  4. exactly, are best player

  5. McGeady done fine once he was moved out to the wing again, He wasn’t awful I agree Samaras was and Brown wasn’t good eitherl. Overall I wasn’t impressed with last nights performance. There was no final ball, no ball control, too many silly fouls and we were well off the pace.

  6. I thought we played great last night we defended well 4 70 minutes, just two flukey goals.Think back to that benfica game wen mcgeady scored we played worse that night and our goal came off a deflection.Bring on the europa leauge

  7. McGeady made loads of good runs with the ball but was too deep. The tactics were wrong, Sammi is a bench player and should always be treated as such.

The midfeld could have used Crosas to pass the ball quicker. Also we kept throwing the ball short and putting ourselves under pressure.

  8. well im proud of the bhoys last night ! why you ask?

a great team like arsenal for me didnt do hee haw against us,sure they had a good chunk of the play but we gave good account of ourselves too! they got 2 flooky flooky goals last night and to me that was the only way they wer going to score! last night has 0-0 writen all over it! you cant blame caldwell for the og either! he was trying to keep the ball getting into the danger area and fair enough it went in the net! as an ex defender myself i would have done the same! we can still beat them ? get the 1st goal down there and we will see? but if they score 1st then fair enough the europa league for us!! KEEP THE FAITH LADS!!

  9. Glad to see your of the same opinion as me alsy. Can't beleive most of the "fans" on here are throwing in the towel. There's still 90mins to play.

i thought tactically we got it wrong we kept possesion so much better when fortune and mcdonald came on. Yet i thought it was a really boring game were neither team took control and could have gone either way. No shame in losing to a classy arsenal side aslong as we go and have a go at emirates:50:

  10. really i thought when i thought we played our best stuff in the first half. We lost our shape and structure when macdonald and fortune came on.

  11. i know mate its not the end of the world! we can still do it why not? and if we dont make it? at least we lost to a great team and not * a team like kaunus like some wee team did lol

  12. Aye i know, we've nothing to lose down there. Going by what most of the fans on here are saying, we should just phone up uefa and tell them "sorry we're not playing next week at the emirates, we're not good enough for the Champions League and we will get pumped down there". Imagine the players had that attitude.

We put up a better fight against Arsenal than that wee team did aswell, they made them look like a pub team and a 17 year old took the * out of them. At least we gave a good account of ourselves and showed that we should be competeting at that level. :50:

  13. First half was exciting enough and a good battle. After the very lucky first goal that the heids went down and I never felt a goal was gonna come. There are positives to take from some of our play but this game also showed what we lack and that is a decent goal threat from our strikers.

  14. Yip!!! I just don't know what's happened to McDonald. He had a screamer of a first season but he's not found that form again. Is he too confident that he's our 1st choice striker and expects to be 1st on the team sheet every game?? Maybe Mowbray benching him last night might give him a kick up the *!!! Expect a hat-trick from him against St Johnstone.

  15. just on for the first time in ages and this is the best thread ive read.

Good performance from the bhoys last night, 2 very unlucky goals and everyone should be proud of the team.

    As already mentioned.

    KEEP THE FAITH

  16. We had desire and showed it until we conceded that unlucky first goal. Than we were down for the rest of the game. I can only say N'Guemo gave 100% for all 90 minutes and I'm proud to see player like that in our shirt.

  17. didnt nguemo get substituted around 70 mins. but i agree with everything else you said, i think that first lucky goal just knocked the sting out of us. i think that if it was 0-0 at half time we would have come out and played alot better in the second

  18. Very proud of the team, to lose a goal like that would knock any side i believe but then to concede an OG well thats just cruel.

  19. the downside of it all is we wont have nguemo to play in the match next week:54:
