    the silver lining of not making the CL (that's IF we don't, which is highly probable).

    aye, so hopefully they boost the money in the Europa League in the near future.

    i don't think anyone thinks it'll be easy. do you think Man Utd fans think it'll be easy to win the CL? no. do you think it'll be easy to win the league? no. but i have the mentality and faith that we can do it.

    i think, and i'm sure the players and backroom staff think the same, that it'll be very difficult to go on a good run in the UEFA cup and win the league...but i believe we can and will.

    Basically later stages are the same. Last 32 and include 24 teams from Europe league and 12 teams from CL who were 3rd in their groups.

    Now, some things beside competition's name have changed. There are 12 groups with 4 teams. Top two teams progress. Same as CL, each team plays other 3 both home and away. It has changed since last years when there were 5 teams and top 3 teams went through groups to later stages.

    its still just the 8 groups in the CL, so there can only be 8 teams who finish 3rd in the CL group stage. 12 groups in the EL:86:

    ...i know...i should get a life :84:

    walk alone on a champs league night
    a lot oh tougher teams than i thought would be in th uefa cup ,but i wouldnt be scared of most of them and hope we can go through to at least hopefully the semi final

    Yes. Groups are same exact format as CL groups.

    ie: 4 teams, top 2 teams progress, everyone plays eachother home and away.

    each group consists of one team from each pot. clubs from the same country cannot be drawn with one another.
