Hopefully it won't be Celtic games on a Monday night. I should not think so anyway.

I'm afraid it is over 5 years, the only difference from the original deal offer is that the SPL have the choice to pull out of the deal after 3 years but they would obviously lose the £26million for the final 2 years....

    * deal, but then again we all knew the smaller clubs would roll over and accept cos they just wanted the money in the bank! :47:

Has the self appointed spokesman of "The O** F***", Minty of Moonbeam, been left with some of Kirk Broadfoot's egg on his face?

Once again, the provincial outfits are undermining any kind of ambition in Scotland. Ironic when you consider it's the Old Firm game SKY/ESPN are interested in.

The other clubs already think everyone is biased towards the old firm. How * would they be if they were told that Celtic and Rangers didnt have to play on a monday cos it would be hard for there fans to travel. If u live far away then you will just have to watch it on the box.

Agreed. Friday nights or Monday nights, when people have to go to work...:38:

Then again at least the league is getting some TV exposure.

It will be good to watch the hoops on sky with decent coverage rather than the mickey service that setanta gave us but the smaller clubs who voted this through have only looked after themselves short term as to them any tv money is better than none and took the first offer from sky instead of trying to look at other avenue's s including the possible old firm link up.

I think the fact ESPN are on board with this is a great opportunity for the SPL and in particular Celtic. The exposure to the USA and Canada can only be gOOd for us. Sure the money is a bit less just now but am sure after the initial three years are up they can demand more money when they realise that more and more people have switched on in North America.

It's not just about ESPN showing live matches over there, they have highlights, they'll feature on the sports news more, websites, everything! I personally think it's gonna turn out to be a great choice.

Only problem there is Rangers would more than benefit from the Celtic brand. They would get as much money and exposure as we would despite the fact most people round the world would be tuning in for the Cel'ic.

I can guarantee you it will be like that. Celtic will not play on a monday night, the smaller teams will be happy to as if this wasn't the case a lot of the non old-firm games wouldn't be shown at all. Setanta showed monday night games, celtic were never in one if i remember correctly? It will be the same here.
