Dunno, it all depends on opinions.

My best mate is a Hearts ST holder as well and he rates Nicholson more, just depends as I say.

Even if we weren't sorted in his position I don't think he's as good as even Forrest or GMS on form.

We need better and need to go abroad for that, IMO.

Thought about what if we signed Walker earlier and think it would be a great idea but I think Oztruk would be a far better signing.

I've said this before but look at McGregor... If he was foreign, we'd be raving about him.

Even young Henderson/McGinn/Allan/Christie.... A lot of potential but we're so pessimistic about our own players.
No danger. Seen him play brilliant, seen him play *. Wouldn't rate higher than Ambrose mate. Young Rossi after nurturing would maybe be decent... Bit of potential there.

Paterson could be an option at RB too tbh.

    Maybe.

I'm still even in two minds about him to be honest! Can be very inconsistent.

At the end of the day the best talent still lies abroad, and it's not all completely out of our reach contrary to what many folk might think.

Our best players in recent years have all came from elsewhere and it will probably continue to be like that. I'd love for us to have a strong side able to compete in Europe built on a mostly Scottish spine however I can't see it.

I mean Allan and Christie can't get near our side the now even when we are playing poor. I can't get my head round it.

Get shot of the deadwood and others that aren't good enough like ambrose, boyata, send Blackett back to United. Borrigter, Forrest, Ciftci, scepovic, johansen (if he doesn't get back to form and/or get a decent offer), kazim-Richards, Cole, Allen if he's not going to get a chance in the team and possibly stokes as well. Even commons if he isn't happy being a squad player and having less game time.

Go back to a 4-4-2 domestically atleast ffs

Mechele or Kara for CB and bring back Matthews. Or even more contriversaly Travenier pmsl. Would be funny as * to take that lots best player, they're in no position to say no to money and is what we're looking for at rb (Lustigs legs are going and I'd have him as an option at CB)

Elyonoussi, a rm for when Roberts returns to city.

Bring back Tony watt to partner griffiths upfront. (Bit of height and mobility, even though might have a bit of attitude has dig and would fight for us and the badge). Maybe an out and out target man/penalty box striker when we need a battering ram that is better than CKR (not that that's overly difficult)

    Gordon

Travenier or Matthews (with Janko as back up)
    mechele or Jozo when fit
Siavetcho (with Lustig and mulgrew as back up)
    Tierney (Izzy)

    Roberts (?)
    Brown (Armstrong)
Biton or Johansen (Rogic and Allen if not sold)
    Elyonoussi (GMS)

    Griffiths (Stokes)
    Watt (Target man)

Wee Gauled in place of commons re wage wise and pay up to 5 million for the bhoy. Free role behind the strikers.
Matt Ritchie because he's very good.
Chris Martin or Gestede from villa when they go down.

Rafik Zekhnini, an 18 year old Norwegian winger, would be a good alternative to Elyounoussi. Perhaps a bigger talent and a lot of hype around the player, so we would have to make a move in the summer.

Dunno if there's any shot of us getting him but I like the look of Mo Barrow from Swansea. They signed him for 1.5M from a second division Swedish side. Just shows there is talent out there in these obscure leagues.

Goal scoring charts, blogs, forums, youtube, transfermarkt those kind of places.

It sure would be a great job doing it full-time, but on this batch it took about an hour.
Maybe looked at 40 players or so, trying to second guess what players might move on to bigger clubs and one or two older heads that are maybe more the finished article and some with potential sell on value.

It's not difficult, some you get right, some you don't, some are signable some aren't, so i look to teams selling on for big bucks, buying cheap and who they might look to recruit next season.

    Bruno Zuculini.

23 now and been consistently put out on loan by City. We could try for a permanent deal, not sure what he is like exactly but there must be talent there. Sure he can play defensive mid.
