So are Paul McMullan's though, McMullan is a midget who likes to run dribble and create and would be seen as a flair player, he got a game.

His reputation may be just based on him being at Real Madrid but you have to take into account to it's the Real Madrid youth teams, they arent really known for being that good or atleast nowhere near the best in Europe compared to their 1st team.

At 19 if he was that good you'd imagine he'd have been loaned out for first team football or he'd be playing for the Scotland U21s not being released and not getting in the SQUAD of the under 19s mind its not just the team they never thought he was even capable of coming off the bench in vital EURO U19 qualifiers.

Just because you're tall doesn't mean you're physical.

Scepovic certaintly isn't a physical player and he's about 6'1.

I'd put the standard of u19 in Spain ahead of the u19 in Scotland. Mc Mullan has only just been loaned out this year as far as I'm aware, if harper moves up to Castilla then it's effectively the same thing so in terms of the level they are playing at, theyre both on par with each other.

I'm only going on sbragia's comments, which were that harper wasn't 'big' enough. Considering harper is 6ft 1, that obviously doesn't mean height so it must come down to his physique and the attributes that would be associated with that.

Whatever sbragia was getting at, it was hypocritical considering the other players that were called up. He is widely considered a dinosaur in football terms.

Well, mostly when a player is left out a squad nobody bats an eyelid. Cause he's from Real Madrid the press questioned him and he just gave them an answer.

Whats he mostly going to say "we're looking to play a different type of game, more physical so have chosen other players" or "the boys pure pish, not good enough for my team thats how hes no been picked".

Hes obviously not going to come out and say he's not good enough.

Mostly because why he was left out Sbragia said he wasn't big enough and didn't know enough about him.

By all accounts he's a good player, hence the reason Spain's youth system are wanting him.

    Come on, mate.

He obviously has something about him. Spain want to get him to switch allegiances, for one.

Even still, playing abroad for Real as a Scottish teen is highly uncommon, compared to playing for Man United or Liverpool just over the border.

Spain want him to play for their youths, but he's not good enough for Scotland youths.

    Aye, alright then

How do we know Spain want him to play for them? cause his did claimed it after he got left out the Scotland U19s....

“The day after Scotland announced the under-19 squad, and Jack wasn’t included, Spain were on the phone asking about his position and international status. Their national academy is just a few miles from Real Madrid’s own training ground, so they know about Jack because they watch his team often enough. Jack wants to play for Scotland. I’m Scottish, so is his mum and the rest of the family. He is committed to Scotland, but if nothing is happening by the time he is 21 then he will have a decision to make because he has a life and a career to fulfil."

As if by the age of 21, he's going to change to playing for Spain if he's not getting a game for Scotland.

You doubt a player is any good that you've never seen. What * chance have you got?

In a world of Football Manager and FIFA, that is even lower on the scale of idiocy.

There is still no way you can claim that "he isn't that good", though. Clearly has ability. I've seen Graham Hunter go on about him numerous times.

I don't know how you can say he isn't that good, what are you basing that on, honestly?:56: I'd put money on him * all over our youth players.

But if he was good would he not be making more of an impact? He played in the same youth teams as Henderson and McMullan who both have more caps than him.

If he was Scotland's best U19 player he'd be getting a game. Even before he got left out the squad he was half starting, half being used as a sub in previous games.

Not if you have some pretty shoddy management, from what I've seen of him, technique wise, he's streets ahead of anything we have at youth level.

With Sbragia leaving him out for such a ludicrous reason then you'd have to wonder about anything and everything to be honest.

I'm sure he was Real's top scorer at his level last season, 25-30 goals.

How's he no getting a game then though?

If he's technically miles better than the rest and he's probably also taller than all the other midfielders/forward how can he not be getting a game?

Hopefully we have another centre-back lined up for when Van Dijk leaves. Looks like we're getting Ciftci up front to replace Guidetti.

If they release him it will have nothing to do with a guy who doesn't play for the same team as him. He's too old for the Youth side, they don't have a 'C' team anymore and they have limited numbers in the 'B' side.

If we could get Jack Harper, Ronny will be chomping at the baws to get him. No doubt about it.

The lad s good, has been well trained aswell. Has much to improve obviously but Ronny can do that. He's much better than any of our youth products in recent years and would add nicely to the homegrown quota.

We should enquire while we are over finalising the deal for Odegaard:fear:
