    ...and Uttrecht. He's Swedish, so we must know about him. Looks like a class player, but Lenny will be thinking, we have Commons and Forrest, so that side of the pitch is OK.

    I don't imagine this guy will go on the cheap.

    Long signed to WBA for 6.5mil I think and i cant see us paying that kind of money for a player, no way he is going to leave for less than they paid for him unless he got into he last year of his contract.

    Would love to have him though!

    Erwin Hoffer anyone ? Banged them in for Rapid Vienna then went to Napoli. Didn't work out went out on loan and scored goals in Germany. Could be an option if no one has snapped him up yet. Austrian international.

    Think you're doing him a bit of a dis-service putting him in the same bag as Doyle. A goal ratio prior to coming to Scotland isn't really a reflection of how well a player will actually do, just look at Larsson's record in Holland or Sutton's before coming to us. Judging Long on what I see from him in matches (fairly regularly btw) and what he brings to a team overall in work rate, creating chances and the trouble he gives defenders....that's what I'm judging him on, and I'm fairly confident he would be immense for us and bag a lot of goals

    Sutton was joint top scorer in the EPL before joining us and Larsson was a winger before Celtic (who still bagged more than Long).

    Long is more of a hard working/effort striker, not much of a goal scorer. Bar that 1 season with Reading which got him noticed.

His goalscoring record improved in subsequent seasons, but he continued to be unsettled and frustrated by a combination of ever-changing coaches, being played in unfamiliar positions and latterly the club's player-rotation policy which saw him being substituted fifty or sixty minutes into a match even when playing well."

    Sutton also had some terrible seasons in the EPL....0 in 13, 3 in 17, 1 in 28

    A scoring record in another league is always going to be irrelevant to what they could achieve in Scotland
