I think we should keep an eye on stevie may , see how he progresses, and if Lenny thinks he is good enough we should try to sign him

 

I mostly work abroad and two players I have seen who have impressed me in recent seasons to make me think they would be perfect for our current signing needs are Palermo's Aber Hernandez and Hamburg's Michael Mancienne.

Hernandez is a beast who was previously linked with Arsenal - he is fast and powerful and is an excellent striker who has good ball control and likes to play on the ground, although he is also one of the best headers of the ball I have seen

He is a Uruguay international and would likely cost 3-5 million, although because Palermo were relegated last season they might be willing to let him come on loan with a pre-agreed price like Miku.

Mancienne is only 25 and can play across the back four, as well as in defensive midfield. I saw him play for Hamburg in his first full season with them and he was so good they gave him a new long-term contract, not long after signing from Chelsea.

This year and last year he has not been a regular starter and I have read on various forums he would be willing to move. If Rudnevs, with his record, was being linked for £5 million then I would be surprised if Mancienne was much more than 2-3.

Hahahaha are you having a laugh!!! Abel Hernandez for that price!! If he leaves the price will be £9 million + at the very least. He's not the type of striker we need in our team, we need a poacher at the moment and he'd be more similar to a fortune type player only better and we all know how Fortune did for us.

As for Mancienne, I always thought he was pish! Was garbage at Chelsea and even worse for Wolve!! I havnt seen an awful lot of him since he moved to Germany but the last game i seen him in there he was terrible giving the ball away time and time again. He's one of those players with an ego, that thinks he's more of a pop star than a footballer. Plus i think his best position is right back and we have 2 good right backs at the moment

 

Was at Celtic park about 11.15 am today. Spotted a black guy similar stature to amido balde look a bit lost and had a backpack/rucksack with him until a Celtic official seen him and showed him into the stadium. Couldn't see him properly as I was nearer the ticket office.

 

I'll be a bit * off if nothing develops over the weekend.

Wish Celtic would get the finger out and spend some money. Getting ridiculous now.

Given half of the transfer suggestions on this forum I am amused that you have chosen to imply that my suggestions are too ludicrous. As for Hernandez, as was stated, his club have been relegated and his value may have reduced, or he might at least be up for a loan ala Miku. Of course I am speculating but isn't that the purpose of this particular section of the forum?

You admit you haven't seen much of him and then slate his apparent ego, but I would argue the opposite. If he was so full of himself then he wouldn't be playing in Germany - these days he could probably land better wages and a higher profile at Hull City or another team in the lower echelons of the Premiership.

Mancienne is hardly a world beater but in case you haven't noticed we cannot afford ourselves one of those. What he is is affordable and he does have potential, which is what our board and manager are presently looking for.

Regarding his best position you say it is right back, but again you admitted earlier you have barely seen him. If you Google him you will find he can play in many positions, although his team mostly plays him at center back. He can also play left back, which gives further competition for Izzy, which I think most would agree he could certainly do with.

 

Yes there does be some ludicrous suggestions but most of them are'nt serious or else just come from people who wouldnt know the game all that good.

Even though Palermo were relegated they dont need to sell any players and certainly his price hasnt dropped even with his lack of goals.

You mention Keisuke Honda, well first off the main reason people were suggesting him is because he is out of contract in 6 months time and then there is the fact of him playing his football in Russia and the way people were suggesting was for Dermot Desmond to sign him on the free and pay the high wages he would be on kind of like the Roy Keane deal.
So with that I dont think we would pay £9-15 million on any player never mind the wages that Abel Hernandez would be on. And there wouldnt be a hope of getting him on loan either.

And if you read back through my first reply you will see i said i havnt seen much of Mancienne play lately!! I have seen plenty of him in the past!! And just because he moved to Germany doesnt mean he doesnt have an ego. The Bundsliga is a very good league and when he moved there he probably thought to himself it'd be alot easier than the EPL and he would become a star there. Also It just means all the English teams knew how pish he was and werent interested and i wouldnt have blamed them after his performances at Wolves!!
Where Potential is concerned, well when a player is coming 26 years of age you cant really say he has bags of potential, by the time he has 2-3 good seasons for us he'd be nearly 28-29 and wouldnt have much resale value, And as for looking up on Google, Well i suppose that says it all about you there, you should never believe everything you read off the internet. if I believed everything that popped up on it I'd be a multi millionaire and have attended Jackie Chans funeral about 100 times
