Some of these might be considered high priced, difficult or what but I believe possible.

Strikers - Santa cruz, klasnic, zigic, molina... There is a few ageing strikers that are around. People mocked the de boer signings for rangers but they brought in vital big match experience. Goals are needed but someone who can read the game, understand how teams play at a high level and doesn't get phased by the occasion will be excellent, not only on the pitch but the dressing room too. I would kill for someone to come in and take up the chris Sutton or Jvoh role for us, especially in Europe.

Centre backs - ciani, juhauz etc etc, someone from a high standing European league. There is also a mountain of good centre backs in Germany that face quality opposition week in week out that we be a far better fit than a gamble from the lower leagues in England or the spl.

Two strong experienced signings in these areas would add so much to the team in terms of the dressing room and on the pitch.

To the lad above - nakamura played for many years in a league that involved lazio, Roma, inter, ac, juventus etc etc. facing those defences and midfiields week in week out will put you in good stead for the champions league

Jvoh - played in Europe for psv almost every season he was there. He also faced the defenders of the top Dutch teams week in week out before coming to us.

These two players where the catalysts to our excellent performance under strachan. Obviously there was others but these two where the stand outs.

    Agree with this.

Although I do believe we should punt Murphy for nout and cut our losses with Bangura since he looked poor in his sub appearances and is proving to be injury prone when he doesn't even get a game.

So I believe we should bring in Russell and an experience striker who is strong and good in the air. If Russell stays at Dundee Utd he'll be in the Championship next year. Huddersfield are already looking at him and I don't want to miss out like we did with Fletcher.

We also need a quality big * of a CB. No lightweights like Lustigs or midfielders in disguise please.

Now Niklas Moisander Ajax Anderlecht chose above falls here and there again the name of Timothy Derijck in purple and white. The Belgian defender PSV knows John van den Brom still good at ADO Den Haag, but within RSCA there is no consensus. Derijck Sat previous weekend in the selection of PSV and see what coach * Advocaat of plan is.

The Scottish Celtic is one of the teams that concretely informed him, but Belgians in Eindhoven has a contract until 2015. </ P>

Derijck linked to Anderlecht and Celtic
    8/22/2012 7:21 0 comments

It is unclear where the future of Timothy Derijck lies. The defender was not in the selection of * Advocaat and looks away may at PSV.

Derijck landed in Eindhoven last summer after a fine season at ADO Den Haag. He came up to a number of performances, but a solid base overhang was not there for the Belgian defender.

Now would include Celtic show interest in Derijck, who is under contract until 2015 with PSV. Anderlecht is occasionally linked to the player.

Anderlecht saw the deal with Nicklas Moisander jump. The AZ-defender moved to Ajax. Purple-white guard also wondering if the millions of the Champions League can get.

Any of our Dutch or Belgium fans seen Timothy Derijck play? Several online football sites have us linked with him today. He is a 25 year old CB.

How about charlie austin? burnley player. Looks very similar to hooper, but is more of an aerial threat. Around 2 million.

Agree with this we should be looking for experience, not someone who is 30+ years old but someone that has played in a decent standard of league for a few seasons, the question is can we get players like JVOH and Nakamura for 3.5m these days?, and are the board willing to pay this much on players with no resale value?, bear in mind we let both those guys run their contracts down and got nothing back

Was with Hertha Berlin until this summer when he knocked back a new contract with them to try his luck somewhere else, we may have seen him when we were scouting the Twardzik twins when they were at Hertha as they would have probably played in the same youth team.

Hooper is pretty fast when he gets in a sprint. Samaras too, those lanky legs get him to places fast. Russell is the last striker I'd look to, in Celtic's situation and team composition.

Berbatov available for £3 million, a bhoy can dream.

Get Desmond to bank roll half his wages for a couple seasons.

That signing would make the loss of Ki more bearable.:50:

Russell is more than a striker. He's a good playmaker and winger too. He'd be the first player id look to :celt_2:

Not only is he a mad Tim who will run through brick walls on the pitch, but hes skillful, pacey, intelligent and would score goals. He'd be a step up from players like Stokes, Samaras and maybe even Commons - playing in either of their roles.

Stokes is deadly when partnered with Hooper. Samaras and Commons have proved their quality last night. I'm a Tim too, but I probably won't ever play for Celtic. Russel can only come if Stokes/Hooper leave.

2 goals and 2 assists in 2 games in the Championship so far this season, with 16 goals in 30 appearances last year. That's a very good record at a decent level. While we do need a more experienced striker, having a back-up target-man would be a great idea. He could prove to be a bargain at £2m. With a record like that, you'd have to think he'd score for fun in the SPL. Although I'd like to see us sign an experienced target-man, I think we could do with a second new striker too. With that in mind, Austin could be a good alternative if we don't get Russell.

Austin isn't a target man, I dunno what his stats are but I don't remeber him being particularly big. I don't think he scores many headers either.

Ok I was a bit out, he's 6ft 2 so bigger than he looks on the telly :56: Got released from Reading for being too small though..

Stokes and Hooper are too static though. Russell has good pace and energy and gets about a lot better, having Russell and Forrest in the same team too would cause teams a lot of problems.

We need another forward with genuine pace I think for tight SPL games.

Pace can't bust down tight defenses. Height or long range shots can. Srđan Lakić would be a decent addition to our strike force.

    Creativity can.

    Forrest Commons Russell
    Hooper

That could, two fast players, running at people, hitting on the break or whatever.

    Forrest Kayal Ledley Russell
    Hooper Stokes

That would work too. We need different options, Samaras isnt the player for away SPL games where theres no space for him to run. Youve got to be quicker and more agile like Forrest and Russell to cause problems there.

A targetman would work too but for me id rather a wee skillful pacey player.

Defenses will just crowd out the fast runners. And who will provide the ball to Forrest and Russell? Ledley is not a true playmaker.
