SPL players that would IMPROVE us....who?

id also think rankin would do well for us as i think he is a good player.

So do I mate, I voted for him. He's a good 'Celtic style' full back. Pacy and good coming forward.

 

errrr? maybe mate? he is still young and still learning tho! and getting him and working with him would make him a better player than he is now?....it would perhaps be a gamble and thats one gamble id take as i think he is a good player!

 

As I wrote in other thread:

MCarthy is the only one really - for his potential.

Steven Fletcher is far too one footed and overvalued.

I think Lee Wallace will become a cracking left back though. Would cost a few million though id imagine.

I would have picked Aguiar as 1st choice, but he's already signed for some Cypriot team.

 

some good players but the problem with celtic at the moment is we are team full of spl standard players. if we want to be serious about the title and europe then we have to stop signing players like flood and look for continental players who can really make a big difference.

 

Fletcher, Wallace, Arfield, McCarthy and McArthur. Why did you put Riordan there? He had his chance, he didn't use it.

 

there are a couple of dundee utd players, sandaza is one of them who would be good

the boy driver and the boy wallace from hearts

rob jones from hibs to add some steel in the defence if only for a couple of seasons

we need to do what O'neil did and get some big hard players at the back and in the middle of the park, we win the battle first then play the silky stuff once we re two or three up. at the moment there are too many lightweights thats why we lost so many points last season because the other teams could match us physically or better us and we were unable to play through them

 

Improve?

Lee Wallace could do better than Lee Naylor, and Steven Fletcher could add something to the striking force, but I can't see anyone of the names being a improvement for Celtic.
Just like Willo Flood wasn't that, even through he were, maybe, Dundee Uniteds most important player.

 

The sad thing is Derek Riordan is better than JVOH and Sammy, considering the form they are currently on.

 

Fair enough. But there might be some Celtic fans out there who think he wasn't given a fair crack of the whip and might be worth another chance. So I thought he was worth a place on the list.

 

Am curious to know.......any of the people who voted for Morgaro Gomis.......who's place would he be taking in our midfield? I don't think he's as good as the midfielders we've already got.

 

Lee Wallace at left back in place of Naylor is the only one from that list that would improve us imo.

 

I don't think he would even want to come back here. He's 26 if I'm correct, so no improvement would be visible.

 

I'm pretty sure he would come back. Especially now it's Mowbray in charge. Whether that would be a good move or not is another question. Personally I wouldn't take him back but he was still worth a place on the list just to see what people thought.
