That is a Hun type of quote. I like the guy but just dont think he excites me as a celtic fan the way O"Neill did. I wanted a manager that the huns would see joining us and * their pants

Yorkshire born but he is one of us.
Let the big man walk through the doors and show what he can do first.
Last time he was here he started the huddle
This time he could galvanise the support and get us all singing from the same hymn sheet once again.

Does anyone not think like me that getting Mowbray is going backwards and he will not win as many trophies as Strachan or O'Neill?

I think we have made the wrong decision and should have went for someone on a high like Coyle or Billic or maybe go for experience like Bennhakker or Trappatoni.[/QUOTE]

he's just scored himself the celtic managers position . how much more of a high does he need.:39:

im glad ur not too, you dont deserve to go. A celtic fan should not be glad about not going to see them play. Me, i savour every second cos when i was growing up i never got much of a chance to see them.

I agree... I stay out of the to boycott or to not boycott argument... but to claim that you are actually happy at not attending games is really frustrating too see here, especially me being someone who will probably only have precious few chances to attend a game in person.

I don't think we are going backwards, we are trying to go forwards while coupled with severe restraints.

A lot of fans were complaining about the standard of football we have been playing the past two seasons, now that the board have went for a manager with an attacking, passing philosophy people are complaining because we might be frail defensively - at least give him a chance to prove you wrong before being so negative.

He may not be the "big" name people were looking for, but big names don't always guarantee success.

Everyone at the club will be trying to improve on last seasons poor result - that's trying to go forward.

i hope and pray we have made the right decision.with mowbray in charge it should be a faster pace of attacking football, under wgs it was just to slow and so predictable at times

That's not fair after all we did appoint Strachan after his club was relegated 'and' he spent a self imposed year in footballing exodus, and yet one look at the trophy cabinet tells you what he achieved.

So no, appointing an ex Celtic player who has a good track record in the SPL (two top 4 finishes with Hibernian for the first time in donkeys years) along with winning manager of the year is his first spell at hibs isn't going backwards in my opinion.

Plus he started the pre-kickoff huddle :86:

I think with Grant and Lennon he'll do just fine for me.

We're not going backwards at all, it may feel like that after losing our first league in 4 years. Look at it this way, we have a new attack minded manager on his way, ambitious & battle fresh from the likes of Man utd, Liverpool, Arsenal etc. Not an old defensive dinosaur of a manger who fans were turning on him as far back as christmas remember! Financially better than our rivals & no need to sell our players(Fergushun, Mcshaggor etc) & the fact that their consistent captain is on his way out of the club in a mobility scooter. They have to sell players to buy players FACT! Coyle & his burnley side are on high after being promoted to the premiership but in reality he has not had that learning curve that Mowbray has & will probably be back in the championship with burnley soon enough. We start again, dust ourselves down & get on with it, give it time & stop the negativity! HAIL HAIL

I have had a season ticket for 15 years and went before during and after the Liam Brady, Lou Macari years.

I just think we have been on an up since John Barnes left with O'Neill and
Strachan steadied ship and won 3 titles.

Now we are going to appoint a relegated manager and not just relegated WBA were pretty much down for months. He didnt change his football ideas for ones that would win. I hope to * im proved wrong but Celtic Board are taking us backwards im sorry. I know we have financial constraints but we are spending 2 mil on compensation so dont have that big a constraint.

Time will tell if Celtic are going backwards ,we definetly went backwards in the last 5 months of last season ,the football was dire to watch ,but we are no entering a new era here and with Celtic paying 2.5 million pounds for the services of Mowbray and co ,thats a step forward ,i didnt think they would have paid it .

Mowbray is not my first choice ,but it doesnt matter now who we thought should have got the job of our team ,the board have identified Mowbray to take us on to another level ,and just by them spending that money to get him ,tells me that they have a bit to spend ,the hard bit starts when Mowbray starts spending and what calibre of player he brings in ,honestly feel this thread should get put on the back burner and reopened about christmas and then people can judge what Celtic are about .

Celtic in whole arent getting anywhere because of the league we are in
