How is running out a contract, taking vast amounts of money on a weekly basis, full in the knowledge he is not wanted viewed as loyalty? * laziness, coupled with a lack of ambition is what i call it. He is a footballer who didn't want to play football - instead, he was happy to rest on his laurels and say "* you." Perfectly entitled to do this - no doubts at all - but that is not loyalty by any notion.

    Sense spoken.

    * laziness and a lack of ambition would lead you straight to the championship playing for a club of less than half the stature, where's the ambition in settling for championship football if you fully believe you can break back into a champions league playing side!

This is the same guy that wouldnt sign a new contract until he pimped himself all around Europe looking for a better deal with a significant signing on fee (cos it would have been a free transfer) than what Celtic was offering.

Henrik fulfilled his contract and did what was expected of him and more.

Balde was told he wasnt in the first team plan, wage structure is being changed for the future of the club and he sits on it and doesnt care what happens to his career.

Big * difference and you know it

no he did not, but people respected him for seeing out a contract to it's end and not jumping when offered earlier is my point

finally! it's nice to see an argument with merits, I just can't spew vitriol at a guy for wanting to continue playing for us,

half that passion in other players that have been and good would have been just dandy

A Championship side destined for the richest league in the world, and i stress again "full in the knowledge he is not wanted".....only the village idiot would "fully believe", having been told otherwise. Numerous times.

It comes down to this - he was told he was not near first team plans. Do you move on, to play football as a footballer, or sit back and get a paycheck? He is entitled to both, but frankly i think it's an embarrasing way to spend the peak years of your career.

you'd rather play for a newly promoted premiership side than celtic? the mind boggles.

when he was brought back into the side during the good old injury woes he certainly wasn't sitting back and taking a pay check, he was doing the job he was paid for and put no less than 100% in

where did yous see all this stuff your spouting.is there a book out or something,a few of you seem sure you know whats went on in side celtic park.

its done now, whatever went on between celtic and balde we will never know the full story,

he got big money and stayed to honour the contract celtic gave him..he did nothing wrong, except * up his footballing careear
i dare say there were more than celtic and balde involved in the saga,i.e agents ,lawyers, even private investagators.one things for sure it takes at least 2 to tango

Oh, well done - you almost caught me in that clever web of words. No, i wouldn't rather play for a newly promoted side than Celtic, UNLESS (and this is the third time i have said it so i shall put it in bold in case you miss it again:

YOU HAVE NO CHANCE OF PLAYING FOOTBALL FOR THE CLUB YOU ARE AT CURRENTLY.

Birmingham came in for him during the Summer, he had been told in no uncertain terms he was not wanted / surplus to requirements, and yet he stayed to pick up a paycheck here. I reiterate, a lack of ambition, and a staggering way to spend the peak year(s) of your career.

I'm only giving an opinion on what I've seen, I can't comment on anything but that, and all I've seen is someone do the job they are paid for when (rarely to be fair) called upon

The fact that Balde isnt training with the first team squad or even the reserves, not playing even reserve games means that on no uncertain terms, he's not in the plans of the club.

If you think he hasnt been explicitly told that he isnt wanted at Celtic Park, explain that one in a logical manner.

the bottom line demps is when he got told this he should have graciously(sorry for the attempt of spelling there lol) left and pursued another crack at another club! but he didnt and this is what it has brought him to.

were concrete deals on the table for him and all personal terms sorted

if there wasent a 100% deal/s turned down what else was balde to do but sit on his * and collect his money

I have no counter for that, like to say I do, but I don't.

Balde's time has past and has been for a while. We all know it. I just can't stand to see someone that's done nothing wrong and always put in a 100% be spoken about like he is.

    * I'd love the 30k to have been freed up earlier, I would, goes without saying. But to call someone a parasite, a leech, a disgrace, for taking what is owed under contract is just plain wrong.

Oh by the way lads, cheers for the debate and saving me from the most mind numbing day of work I've had to stomach in a while.

He wouldnt agree to leaving Celtic without being compensated for the remainder of his contract. Something he wasnt entitled to

You can believe whatever you like. You have google too, you can do your own digging if you really want to know stuff

Can't make up my mind about Bobo. Think he's a good defender but is he being greedy or does he want to see out his contract? A player signs a contract and is expected to honour it.

that's just speculation, if someone from parkhead released that statement I'd believe it, but paper talk, as well we all know, is pretty much worthless
