I do recognise that he has been working with his hands tied behind his back and rightly praise him for the results he has gotten in the past, but, I just don't see us moving forward (I agree that some people fail to acknowledge the constraints he's been working within).

Like I said, I hope he goes, but it has to be his decision as I wouldn't want him sacked as he doesn't deserve that, if he decides he wants to stay then I'd support him throughout next season as well. A bit of a contradiction I know, but although I think he's taken us as far as he can he doesn't deserve to be sacked so if he thinks he can improve us then deserves the chance to prove me and all the other doubters wrong.

He has been great for Burnley and was unlucky with St Johnstone as well. I'm just thinking how the times have changed when we could be looking at a manager who was in the Scottish First Division last year lol.

I think Coyle would need a EPL team for a while or at least another couple of years experience in handling different players before coming up to Glasgow's pressures.

He's officially new manager of Angola. By the way, I see your point.

Kept Coventry up for 5 seasons then was sacked in 2001, took over Southampton in the relegation zone and 3 mid table finishes for 3 seasons then left in 2004.

:56::56::56:That's only if Mourinho turns it down. But then again when we sign Michael Owen, Robbie Kean and all the other EPL stars, they might be tempted:97:

Strachan has a track record of getting the best out of the players at his disposal, the problem doesnt lie with what he's doing at the club. The clubs failure to secure the title will be mainly down to Park & Lawwell for not finding and securing the talent that would improve the first team's style of play

Completely disagree. Celtic have better players than Rangers.

Every new manager gets a kitty to spend at any major club. That said cast your mind back to Jo Venglos, the first man he brought in will be in Celtic Folklore till the end of time, Lubo Moravcik. Then think about Wim Jansen, his first signing is and forever shall be one of, IF NOT THE, best player ever to wear the hoops, Henrik Larsson. Both these signings were next to nothing.

Seems to be a bit of a pattern there am sure you agree? I.E. you bring in a foreign manager who maybe has not got the highest of reputations, but they obviously have ideas on which players they want to bring along, players we don't know exist but have impressed the manager in question to the point he knows he wants him in his team before he even knows what his team is!

Add to that he will not be damanding all sorts of transfer kitty's due to him not being in a position to demand such riches, due to his relative unknown reputation in this country.

We are constantly told how we have an amazing scouting system in place, well why can't we use it to uncover a gem of a manager rather than a gem of a player?

He doesn't seem to be getting the best out of this squad though, most would agree we have a better squad than rangers yet find ourselves behind them after having a 7 point lead earlier in the season. If he was getting the best out of them I don't think they would have capitulated such a lead.

If he stay's I hope you are right and he does get the best out of this squad but at this moment in time I can't see it - although I'd be happy to be proved wrong.

The next manager will have to continue on what GS is doing. Transfer policy isnt going to change nor will any manager be given the level of control that MON had.

Sacking GS in the hope of the next guy signing a great player on the off chance is ridiculous thinking.

I wouldnt class our scouting network as amazing or anywhere near it. Its an area that can be improved upon

Totaly agree with that Dempsey, we are not going to change the underlying structure at the club, but we are so stale just now a new manager might just be the breath of fresh air we require.

No matter if we still have GS or someone new there will be no major bucks spent on big name players, I just think it might be time for someone new to come in - there's no guarantee that bringing someone new in would be successful but we need to do something to liven things up.

so why doesn't he grow a set of balls and say something then.

surly if he has been dealt a bad hand and has accepted this bad hand ,it cant be good for his own reputation as a manager ,at the very least it makes him look like a yes man.

You took that long to come up with that? Poor show Dempsey i expected better from you mate.

The next manager will have to work within the same constraints, but he will still be given an initial transfer budget just like GS did when he first came. And i never mentioned MON once, i think it's quite obvious whoever comes in will get nowhere near the amount he got.

If GS gets sacked it will be for his inability to retain the title against an inferior hun team, and the demise in the quality of football we have had to endure, not because there is a chance the next guy light sign a good player :56:

Talk about wordplay, you should work for the daily record mate!!
